”Went on an ice fishing trip with the guys & teenage boys: 15 of us in all. The kitchen, commons, bathroom & sleeping accommodations worked out well. Liked that a few of us could go on the ice to fish and we didn't need to pack things up and drive, while the others were in the lodge. Thanks again!”

”We stayed for a couple nights on a late season hunting trip and this place was perfect for what we needed. Clean, warm and easy to get to from where we were hunting. Plenty of sleeping area, beds were comfortable, had plenty of space for the dog kennels and a big hang out area. Bird/fish cleaning area was super convenient as well as Deanos steakhouse just down the block which had awesome food. We would definitely stay again.”

”Loved location, scenic nature views, could even see the side of Mount Rushmore in the distance. Room was perfect, clean, comfortable. Breakfast options were good. Only Interacted with front desk staff and breakfast staff but they were great. Best place to stay in the area cause it’s set apart from the main tourist strip yet so close. If we go back, I would definitely stay here again. ”

”We’re traveling vagabonds. We’ve been everywhere—Europe and the USA. This is one of the best facilities we’ve stayed in. Cozy, well appointed. Just what a traveler needs. Not luxurious, yet it offers quietude, piece of mind and a beautiful pine wood decor— good workmanship. Couldn’t be more pleased. Top it off with a wonderful staff. Wish all accommodations were of this caliber. And, economical! ”

”Hotel staff was so pleasant. Room was great. Newly renovated. Construction is outside, which at first worried us driving in, but it did not cause any problems. Walked down to the trail and tasted the fresh spring water. If you want to go to the fresh spring spa near by, make sure you book an appointment for a soak in advance. Disappointed we didn’t because we then couldn’t get a time that worked for us. ”

”We had a group of hunters stay here recently and the space worked great. It was very comfortable for our large group and had all the amenities we needed and host was great to work with. Would book again!”

”The room had a very mountain feel. Very nice decor. Only issue was that both beds felt like sleeping in a bowl. Maybe broken in the middle? Besides the bed the room was very nice. Restaurant was also very good and reasonably priced. ”

”We attended a wedding on this property and we had higher expectations for the hotel considering the high price. The area is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The price is exorbitant considering the condition of the hotel and the tv's have limited channels and were NOT High Definition, just like the old days. The food in the dining room was not worth the price tag. ”

”Where do i begin? I grew up in Rapid City and went to Canyon Lake park frequently as a child. Now after moving away, and having not being able to stay with family, we needed a new place to gather. What an amazing facility the resort is! They have everything you need for a largebor small gathering. The availability of the lodge, or cabins was perfect for a reunion/95th birthday party for 40 people! I cannot recommend Canyon Lake resort enough!”

I thought we were heading to a single story easy access vacation home in the hills, and what we rented was a house with a walk up basement with a very steep and narrow staircase, the outside stairs to the front door, had no railing making it super difficult for my elderly family member to maneuver.
