We stayed at the Art Deco Beach Bungalows in 2017 and had a very pleasant experience, which is why we decided to book here again. Things have apparently changed. We were granted early check-in, which was nice and the bungalow did appear clean upon arrival. A parking space was included, which was also convenient. I noticed that the rental appeared a bit run down, but it wasn’t enough to discourage me. However, when I opened the closet to look for the beach chairs, I discovered a dead roach on the floor. In fairness, it may have gotten in after housekeeping left, but it immediately made me uneasy and I was afraid to even leave my suitcase out. The outdoor area seemed fairly well-kept, but mason jars containing an unknown substance were sitting outside of one of the units. It almost seemed as if some of these units had people actually living in them now. The bed was not comfortable, you could feel the springs in the mattress. The final straw, however, was music blasting nearby until 4:30 a.m. While this is no fault of bungalow ownership or management, hearing bass thumping all night long was unacceptable. We gave up on sleep at 4:45 a.m. and as soon as we got ready, we walked to the large, nearby resort and checked in there for the remainder of our trip. I did not bother to contact the property management company because at this point, I didn’t feel comfortable or safe there and there was nothing that would’ve made me change my mind.
