”My wife and I had a great stay at Bellwether House. The location was perfect next to the park. Quiet, charming and still walkable to everything you’d want to do. Matt and the rest of the staff were very hospitable. The tea service and breakfast were fantastic! We ate there every morning and evening (before dinner). We’ve already recommended staying here to a few friends and family and would book again without hesitation. 5 stars!”

”I absolutely loved this place! My boyfriend and I took one room and my Mom took the one next to us. The rooms were beautiful, and the beds were very comfortable. There's an intercom you can turn on to play ambient music; it was on when we walked in and it just made the arrival so relaxing. ”Our experience was amazing. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts with eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, and a biscuit, Belgian waffle or pancake every morning. We had cookies waiting for us in the afternoon and wine and appetizers in the evening. We never made it to the port wine and snack before bedtime. The inn is magical with it recently updated decor. The staff bed over backwards to accommodate, and the location is close to historical sites. We can’t wait to return. ”

”Absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful historic hotel, located conveniently (10 minute walk) to everything! The breakfast was amazing, the afternoon wine and cheese social with entertainment was something we looked forward to each evening. Sadly we didn’t get to have dinner in 45 Bistro, but the menu was outstanding. Rounding everything out, was a pleasant and helpful staff, from front desk to housekeeping to valet. The only suggestion I would have is that they need to have better selections...

The Georgia Historical Society, founded May 24, 1839, is one of the oldest historical societies in the country. Among it founders were L.K. Tefft, the noted autograph collector; William Bacon Stevens, historian, physician and prelate, and Dr. Richard D. Arnold, who as Mayor of Savannah, formally surrendered the City to General Sherman in 1864. The Presidents of the Society have included John Macpherson Berrien, Attorney General under President Jackson and United States Senator; James M. Wayne, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States; and Henry R. Jackson, jurist, soldier, diplomat and poet. Hodgson Hall, the home of the Society, is a repository for books, newspapers and manuscripts relating to the history of Georgia. Dedicated in 1876, the building was a gift of Margaret Telfair Hodgson and Mary Telfair as a memorial to William Brown Hodgson, the distinguished scholar of Oriental languages and United States Dragoman and Consul to the Barbary States and Turkey.
