These cabins are just a short drive to downtown for additional dining. They are located on the River for scenic views. Close to bourbon distilleries. Great firepit for evening relaxing. Two cabins are available.

  • Kentucky State University was chartered in May 1886 as the State Normal School for Colored Persons, only the second state-supported institution of higher learning in Kentucky.[1] During the euphoria of Frankfort's 1886 centennial celebration, the city donated $1,500 towards the purchase of land for a new college on a bluff overlooking Frankfort. The new school formally opened on October 11, 1887, with three teachers, 55 students, and John H. Jackson as president.[1] Recitation Hall (now Jackson Hall), the college's first permanent building, was erected in that year. KSU became a land-grant college in 1890, and the departments of home economics, agriculture and mechanics were added to the school's curriculum.[1] The school produced its first graduating class of five students in the spring of that year. A high school was organized in 1893. This expansion continued into the 20th century in both name and program. In 1902, the name was changed to Kentucky Normal and Industrial Institute for Colored Persons. The name was changed again in 1926 to Kentucky State Industrial College for Colored Persons.

Wonderful stay! Beautiful property, and a quaint, cozy cabin. The only concern we had was that there was no window covering over the front door, and it is one big window that someone could see straight through to the bedroom and bathroom. There were other guests staying in the other cabin so privacy was a bit of a concern.

Super cute place. Love the decor. Only complaint was that when I opened the drawer in the bathroom it was full of hair and it was laying next to the washcloths which was disgusting. Other than that everything was great!

Super adorable!

Such a cute little place with so many small details that make a big impact! It was perfect for my husband and I. Plenty of blankets and pillows, towels, etc. We loved it and thought it was so cute, comfy and cozy! We visited old town Frankfort and highly recommend Stainless-a mead brewery and The Cooperage-a quaint littl3bar with music, pool, darts and shuffleboard.

Nice little cabin

Overall, really nice. We enjoyed our stay. On the first night, raccoons got into the outdoor trash bin, knocking it over and scattering the trash from the previous tenant all around the ground making quite a mess. We could see that they visited the neighboring cabin as well. The owner should look into a solution for this issue.

This place was awesome! A place you want to spend time and relax. Would go back in a heartbeat and wish we would have booked for longer. Would have been nice to have a microwave, shampoo and a hair dryer provided but the place itself was so great, otherwise, that we weren’t upset about it.

Gorgeous secluded cabin ! Beautifully decorated. Loved all of the special touches like the barrel trim on the wall, the vintage refrigerator, and the deck with the chairs overlooking the outdoor scenery. Everything was perfect and very clean. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Nice Little Getaway

Surprised my husband with a day date in Frankfort and found this property for a nights getaway. Truly a gem with beautiful views of the Kentucky River. Can't wait to return in warmer weather. Cabin is beautifully decorated and very cozy.

Bourbon Barrel Cabins

Brand new cabin, clean with plenty of towels, great view overlooking the river. Loved the design and decor, especially the barrel metal plates that held the outside rails. It’s the small touches that make this place special. We celebrated a 50th birthday and the location was quiet and perfect! Thank you!!!
