Welcome to The Blue Spruce — a bright, modern home tucked into the pines in Frederic, 10 minutes north of Grayling & 15 minutes south of Gaylord. It looks like a cozy cabin from the driveway, then keeps going: 4 bedrooms, 10 beds, and a basement Crew Room that sleeps the overflow — 14 guests under one roof. Two fire pits, a big deck, and a quiet lake with a kayak drop-in just down the road. The AuSable River, Hartwick Pines, and Northern Michigan's trail network are all minutes away.

The Blue Spruce is managed by Haze Retreats. Check-in is contactless via smart lock, and we're reachable by message or phone throughout your stay, with in-person support available when needed.

The Blue Spruce sits on a quiet street in Frederic, a small Up North town 10 minutes from Grayling — Michigan's canoeing capital and home of the AuSable River Canoe Marathon. Hartwick Pines State Park and its old-growth forest are 15 minutes away, Hanson Hills recreation area is just south, and Higgins Lake's famous clear water is about 25 minutes.

Frederic is a true snowmobile town: 150+ miles of groomed Crawford County trails connect Grayling, Frederic and Gaylord right from town, with sled-up gas in Frederic and 500+ connected miles across Northern Michigan.

Golfers have 10+ courses within 30 minutes — Grayling Country Club on the AuSable is 10 minutes away, the Gaylord Golf Mecca's 16 courses start just up I-75 including Treetops' 81 holes, and nationally ranked Forest Dunes is a 40-minute drive.

Summer brings river trips, hiking and ORV routes, and small-town festivals.

Guests have full access to the entire home — all three levels, the deck, the yard, and both fire pits. Parking for several vehicles in the private driveway. Check-in is self-service via smart lock, and a digital guidebook with directions, house details, and local recommendations arrives before your stay. The detached garage is not included with the rental.

🛏️ Room for Everyone: 4 bedrooms + the basement Crew Room, 10 beds total. Two queen bedrooms on the main floor, one upstairs room with two full beds, a second with a full plus two twins — and the Crew Room downstairs with two more fulls, a futon, smart TV, and game table. Bring the whole crew; nobody draws the short straw.

🍳 Eat-In Kitchen: Fully equipped with a farmhouse sink, full-size appliances, coffee station, and seating for the group. It flows straight into the open living room, so the cook stays in the conversation.

🔥 Two Fire Pits: A smokeless fire pit on the front deck for evening drinks, and a classic fire ring out back circled by Adirondack chairs under the pines.

A vehicle is recommended — ride-share is limited in the Grayling area. Nearest airports: Traverse City (TVC) ~1 hr 15 min, Detroit Metro (DTW) ~3 hrs. Free parking in the private driveway.

Rates include up to 10 guests; a small per-night fee applies for guests 11-14. Quiet residential area — no parties or events. The lake access down the road is a public drop-in, not a private beach. Cell service in Frederic is generally reliable. The home runs on well water and a septic system.
