Village Pond, Glaston What looks to be a formal pool is actually a pond constructed about 1740. The wording on the sign (see 364733) says, "An ancient pond circa 1740 for soaking cart wheels to prevent ash wood shrinking from the iron tyres and also for horses hooves to prevent hardening" I hope the horses didn't get foot rot!

A very nice hotel with great facilities. However, disabled parking spaces were occupied consistently by the hotel contractors. Mentioning this to hotel staff had no effect. This didn't help our access.
