The Bear's Den At Sweet Dreams Overlook

Welcome to The Bear's Den! A cozy and comfortable one-room suite complete with the sights and sounds of Lake Superior. Additional information, reservations, and units are available for VRBO viewers on our website SWEETDREAMSOVERLOOK. VRBO has made some updates to their software and are still working on notifications. If possible, please reserve through the website to avoid confusing communications that are not feeding properly from my website. It's conveniently located just minutes away from the incredible small & culture-filled town of Grand Marais, MN, the Superior Hiking Trail, along with biking and ski trails. In addition, it is only about 30 minutes away from Lutsen Ski Resort and Superior National Golf Course. There is shopping, dining, live music/arts ...all along the shore of Lake Superior! A variety of events are scheduled throughout the year in and around Grand Marais. Enjoy free high-speed internet, a smart TV (but no cable), a mini-fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils, coffee, and coffee maker along with a large private bathroom (complete with a revitalizing soaking/jetted tub and separate shower). This lovely suite was recently updated and remodeled and you'll certainly enjoy its charm, cleanliness, and convenience to amenities the North Shore and Grand Marais have to offer. It is similar in style to a studio apartment as it is located in the lower level of a single-family home and has a private entrance. The upper level is occupied by the owner who is on hand for any questions or requests. There is no direct lake access. E-bikes are available to rent this summer!
( Please note that we do have Covid-19 cleaning and disinfecting policies in place. All surfaces are sanitized prior to your arrival and all linens are highly sanitized.)

The Bear's Den was exactly what we needed. Although not walkable to nearby Grand Marais, parking was easy and the town is only a short few minute drive away. The space was comfortable and quiet. My favorite part was reading on the quiet deck space while enjoying the morning sun.

The room was clean and nicely decorated. I loved the whirlpool tub!But- it is right off of Hwy. 61- traffic noise was unpleasant. You turn right off of the highway and there is the parking spot.

We really loved our stay - it was the perfect spot as was so close to Grand Marais but private and secluded. The king size bed and the whirlpool tub were added bonuses and both were perfect after a full day of hiking and biking. Tina was awesome to work with and we definitely will be looking to stay here again!

Very easy to find and checkin process. Comfy bedding! We spent a lot of time on the peaceful deck, soaking up the sun and listening to the waves (peekaboo view of the lake). It is small, but well-appointed. The only thing I’d add would be to repaint the edge of the stairs for added safety. We enjoyed our stay!

The property was clean and well kept. You can see Lake Superior from the deck. Great communications with the owner. Would highly reccomend this location.

Perfect Base Camp for State Park Adventuring

Spent 3 nights and 4 days over Labor Day weekend exploring several State Parks as well as a hop to Grand Portage. This was a perfect no frills but very clean and comfortable rental to use as our base camp. Just a couple of minutes from all the dining and shop in Grand Marais with short drives to all the State Parks or River Trails you could possibly want to explore. It is right off superior and has a nice little porch to sit and listed to the animals and waves hitting the rocks. There is a view of the big lake, but somewhat impeded by trees. We will definitely be back but will likely upgrade to the Larger Wolf Den room rental at same location to have a Kitchen. All in all, a great property.

Immersive and relaxing

How lucky am I that the hotel where I was meeting at had been sold out so I found this sweet little gem. So relaxing and vey clean, felt very inviting with beautiful surroundings!

More than average space and unusually clean. Shower stall a little small for a large person, but fine for us. Hostess very pleasant, patient and helpful, though didn't seem very familiar with local restaurants. Quiet pleasant setting. Parking very convenient. Would certainly recommend. Oh, bring your own coffee creamer.
