”Very comfortable and clean, but we just stayed one night as a stopover. Great brew pub directly behind hotel so dinner access was easy and quite tasty. Only negative was breakfast was sparse and few protein options. ”

”Frequently stay in the Fairplay area for work and the Hand hotel has been by far the most enjoyable place to stay. The other option (Riverside Inn) has always been extremely noisy and the staff don't seem to care much about customer concerns. The Hand hotel staff were excellent and it was convenient having the cafe down-stairs... just be aware it isn't open every morning, but there are other options close by. It is a historic building so keep that in mind when booking.”

”TV didn't work. There were spiders in the room. Refrigerator didn't keep anything cold. Bathroom fan was unusually loud. Adjoing room door was very difficult to lock. The room was clean (except the spider), bedding was clean and the little porch overlooking the river was lovely. ”

”The walls are paper-thin. The beds are sold as memory foam mattress, they are not. I sleep on memory foam. It gives just a bit when pressed. These beds are the cheapest hardest mattress from whatever local discount mattress shop. There was an extremely limited breakfast available. One night our neighbor had a full mental break down and ems had to sit outside our room for hours. Also we arrived after 10 pm. We were left to wait in the cold for a staff member. They provide a phone to call said...

”No heat in common area and all halls. Have to call on phone if you need anything to a random person off site. No guests were there except us. Charged $200 more for suite. No sheets on upper loft bed. No coffee until late morning. No closet. At breakfast no bread for toast. Random guy arrived to cook an egg. Horrible week in this place. ”

”Probably my favorite small motel that I have ever stayed in! The host was so nice and willing to do almost anything to make the stay comfortable. The room was small but very comfortable. Very clean and quiet. The proximity to ski resort was a plus. No negatives at all. Doesn't have all the extras of a big hotel but it is perfect for a ski stay or I'm sure a summer trip as well.”

”Room was amazing! The view was beautiful! Staff was a little different but friendly. Will say make sure you like cold showers!!! Someone need to tell these people about on demand hot water heaters.”

”There is nothing near by to walk to especially when it is cold and snowing out. They don't have a liquor license so you cant gamble and drink there. To get to the garage for parking you have to leave there go down the hill to the stop sign. Then you have to make your way back up the hill. Its on a one way road. Not very convenient at all”
