The owners were very attentive and couldn't be nicer. The property is absolutely beautiful with a great location. The owners are on site but give you complete privacy. You only see them at breakfast but as nice as they were, we truly enjoyed getting to know them.The room is adorable and easy direct outside access. When we are in the area next time, we will most definitely stay here again, hands down!

It’s possible that we missed in the description that the bedroom was not attached to all the amenities, but that was one drawback. The actual sleeping quarters is extremely small and circulation of air is not the best. If the bedroom had a screen door, it would’ve helped immensely. Other than that, the accommodations are great. The host and hostess are absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere is unmatched. The Koi fish are stunning.

Couldn't have had a better experience! The property is beautiful and serene, and the room is cozy and comfortable. The owners are super sweet and accommodating, and they are so knowledgeable about the area! They are at the property during your stay, but they are so courteous; It feels like you have the whole place to yourself! The bed was really comfortable, and the room has a small AC unit so it never got too hot in there. The morning breakfasts were absolutely delicious too. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway I can't recommend this property enough!

We had a very relaxing, enjoyable time. The hosts were fabulous, very approachable and friendly. We really enjoyed relaxing in the sunroom, being in the hot tub, and sitting by the fireplace in the evening. We hope to come again soon.

This was such a unique and lovely place to stay. The sunroom was glorious and has a pool table, so we spent a lot of time there. We had both the hot tub and sunroom all to ourselves; Julie and Ken are very protective of guest privacy. The grounds are beautiful and we walked around some of the neighborhood. It really is a neat area to explore, lovely homes. We didn't get to use the outdoor fireplace because the weather didn't agree, but it was ready for us if that had changed.We don't eat out much, even when we travel, so we used the outdoor grill area to cook and it was great fun. Julie helped us celebrate our wedding anniversary with some very special, very personal touches that we appreciated so much. Breakfast is lovely! Julie makes a homemade treat (I won't give away what it is) that was a highlight for us.I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend!

My husband and I celebrated our 15 yr anniversary at the Bear Den. The room is separated from the main home allowing for complete privacy. The sunroom was a great place to hang out with my hubby and shoot some pool. The hot tub was hot bubbly and relaxing under the stars. The bed was so cozy and we enjoyed a great breakfast provided by our wonderful hosts. There was also an outdoor fireplace to cuddle by, fully prepared with wood logs. Thank you for providing a place for us to enjoy the much needed R&R

Loved our stay at this beautiful hidden gem. The hosts were warm and welcoming and made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. The continental breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious. So nice to have the whole sunroom to ourselves to play pool, enjoy views of the Koi pond and have glimpses of small airplanes preparing to take off. Nature was right outside of our window, of birds and several deer only a few feet away.

A beautiful stay, and the hosts were amazing! The living quarters are a little small for an extended stay, but the exclusive use of the gorgeous, spacious sunroom, more than made up for it. Sitting in that room looking out onto the beautiful property, was a peaceful way to start each day. The hosts were kind and attentive to our every need.

My husband and I enjoyed the breakfast provided, relaxing environment, and small town atmosphere of Nevada City and Grass Valley. The airport behind the property is for small prop planes so it’s not loud and it was fun to watch the planes taking off and landing from up close. The bear den is exactly as described and the grounds are beautiful. Ken and Julie are wonderful and have a gift for hospitality. Anyone looking for a nice cabin getaway in ill love staying here. This is the second time we have stayed at the Bear Den. Julie and Ken are fantastic people. They are a wealth of information and kindness. Breakfast each morning was great. The bed in our room is like sleeping on the wings of angels. The sunroom has a pool table, lots of couches and chairs along with a TV that gets pretty much every channel you would ever want. They have a beautiful Koi Pond so if you book in the spring or summer don't forget to bring worms :) My wife and I are going back in the spring to see all the flowers and butterfly's. Oh, there are lots and lots of trails very close by for those who like to stretch their legs and see nature. Thank you, Julie and Ken for another wonderful visit. We so appreciate your hospitality and conversation.

My partner and I found this to be a perfect getaway spot. Having access to the sun room made all the difference as the room itself is not large but it served our needs just fine. The icing on the cake is the continental breakfast the host put out each morning which was truly beautiful. You can tell the hosts care for their property and are proud of their offering. We enjoyed the hot tub and being in the greenery!

Our experience was excellent, next time we will stay more than one night, ALL PERFECT! Went to see the last of fall and all was perfect fall color surrounding this property. Property managers were perfect, fixing homemade waffle and bowl of oatmeal that was part of an amazing breakfast! Pleanty of alone time and lots fo help as needed from property managers. High Praise, bed very comfortable, BBQ clean and easy to use, wonderful outdoor fireplace to hang out in front of into the night! Thank you for a great memory and will be back in the spring!

If you want a place to stay that feels like home, somewhere where you can relax, and enjoy the views, this is the place for you. The owners, Ken and Julie, made us feel at home the minute we arrived. They were kind, friendly, and courteous. Their home was beautiful and quiet. They had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. They gave us great suggestions on eating out and places to go. Our hosts created a wonderful experience. In addition to our room, they shared a beautiful sunroom and a patio overlooking an attractively landscaped backyard. This included a waterfall and Koi pond. Breakfast was included, which was a special treat. The bear den theme was felt throughout.

My wife and I had a great experience staying here for our anniversary. The backyard and sunroom are beautiful and well kept. Great place to get away for a relaxing romantic weekend. Also loved the hot tub surrounded by trees. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. Would definitely go back
