”Spent Labor Day weekend at the Exeter Inn. The staff is lovely. The interior is beautiful. I loved the central staircase. Our room was large, comfortable and immaculate. The location is perfect. You can easily walk to town. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended”

”We had an enjoyable stay over four days here while moving my children into PEA over the holiday weekend.The rooms were very comfortable, we had plenty of towels and other items. I called for a rollaway bed and it was delivered quickly. The staff were very friendly, helpful and understanding. I liked receiving daily check-ins from the staff to see if we needed anything. The daily breakfast was nice with a few different options ranging from oatmeal to belgian waffles and a all day coffee station.”

”Hotel front desk staff exceptional. Our room was the cleanest room i have had on any hotel. Would also add the breakfast was wonderful and the gentelman who supplied the service was on top of it!!!!”

”A nice place to stay in Portsmouth. Nothing fancy, but the bed is comfortable, the shower is great..
Microwave, ironing board, good space..24 hour front desk.
Very convenient to get to downtown.
It’s not in a walkable area..I wasn’t concerned about that.”

”Motel 6 can sometimes be a crapshoot across the country but this one is a jewel. Right off the highway and the property is meticulously cared for. One small disadvantages is that the pool is not operational. Other than that we give it a big thumbs up!”

”Wonderful place like the classy inns of yesteryear. Great old building. Cool antiques and furniture everywhere. They give you an actual glass (instead of plastic) for drinking in your room. Restaurant was delightful. Staff friendly and courteous. ”

”Large, comfortable room and a wide variety of options at breakfast (omelets, sausages, pancakes, yoghurt, fruit, etc). The room has a nice shower with good water pressure, though it took me a while to understand how to turn it on. The main room was a bit dim since there was no ceiling lights, and I closed the curtains as my room was right across the parking lot.”

”The stay here was such a treat. The details that made it feel luxurious were very well appointed. In an area that has had a boom of modern hotels and restaurants The Danforth reminds me of the class and history Portsmouth is built on. Have already recommended the Danforth to friends. ”

”This is a cute place to stay. The room was clean. It’s very quiet. The pool is salt water. I’d recommend this place. There’s no place within walking distance to eat or shop so bring a vehicle or Uber. ”
