My stay was almost excellent. A lovely, clean room with good facilities and a comfy bed. The staff were mostly great - especially in Branfords where the female staff in particular were hardworking, super-friendly and cheerful and in the gym/spa where they were all pleasant and helpful. I had a lovely massage by Teira (?) and enjoyed the warm pool and jacuzzi. The breakfasts were excellent too. The maids worked hard also and were very sweet.
Low spots were for me, as a woman staying alone for four nights, no internal door lock, chain or peephole. When I asked about the lock/chain I was told it was for security/emergency issues but this didn't reassure me, especially as the hotel isn't manned overnight. Also, the heated towel rail in the bathroom was broken and when I asked about this I was told, "Yeah, they're all broken.' So to keep the bathroom warm I had to prop the door open.
Sorting these things for me would have made this stay really fabulous.
