”Excellent service from the lady proprietor on check in and at breakfast daily. A great host. Good breakfast selection including hot food to order although white bread tastes unusual. Room good and had a fan in it. Decor quite old and tired, especially in bathroom but doesn’t hinder the stay. Slept well and the place was quiet even though full. Good location. Would stay again.”

”We really enjoyed our stay at the George in Castletown. The staff are incredibly friendly. The breakfast was really extensive for a Pub stay and was fresh. The only letdown was that we had a standard double bed when we booked a king! We decided not to complain as the room was clean and tidy and we were only there for one night. Would recommend and would stay there again the place has character.”

”Huoneeni oli tilava ja siisti. Rakennus oli vanha, mutta huone oli remontoitu nykyajan vaatimukset täyttäviksi. Rappuset huoneeseen oli tosin kapeat (mutta hissikin oli). Aamupala oli ilmaiseksi hyvä (muroja, jugurttia, paahtoleipää, mehua, teetä ja kahvia). Respa oli auki vain aamuisin. Muina aikoina sitä hoidettiin etänä läheisestä hotellista, joka oli ihan toimiva järjestely. Aulassa oli puhelin, jolla etärespaan sai helposti yhteyden.”

”All staff friendly and attentive. Had Bed & Breakfast stay in room with an atrium balcony which I can highly recommend in hot weather, the water features on the first floor provides more natural air conditioning. Plus the sound of the water provides a calming ambience.”

”Well located hotel within five minutes walk of the ferry port. An old fashioned style B and B with seemingly new owners (Opul Group). Rooms are large but maybe a little in need of a refresh. Everything clean. Breakfast included which was surprisingly excellent. Buffet style but even catered for us as vegans which was amazingly welcome. Well located for the town centre, next door to wetherspoons which can be loud on a weekend, but no huge problem.”

”The hotel is very dated, not very clean and not maintained very well. Stayed there because it was a Best Western, but it wasn't of the same quality of a Best Western Hotel. The elevators were reliable, front desk not very friendly. Glad I was able to store my luggage prior to checking in to another hotel nearby for the TT races.”

”Excellent room. The downside was there were no other teas, and the television had no internet connection - only Sky. Could not connect to other options... Expensive but very nice.”

”The property is in a great location with easy access by public transport from the airport. The staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent and the free bottled water a bonus. A couple of gripes though the ensuite was very small and needs some TLC the tiles and shower need replacing and the toilet brush was not clean. Also we were only give one key this meant we had stopped stay together all the time. We also managed to lock ourselves out and had to wait nearly 2 hours fro staff...

”We rented a luxury apartment. It had a spacious living area with all you need for self catering. Housekeeper there to welcome us and show us to the room. Like the fact you can have your apartment serviced - clean towels etc. If you have a car there are reserved spaces out the back in the car park. Only negatives were the apartment we rented was on the top floor (three flights of stairs) - no lift. So with heavy baggage it’s hard work but not a real problem for us. Bedroom is very small and...

”This place is hidden gem. Loved it so much we stayed another night. Close enough to the electric railway to give you easy access to the island.. There is NOT a lot going on in Laxey, but that exactly what we were looking for. if you just want to relax and get away. The shore hotel is a great spot”
