  • Hidden among the trees in the Moosehead Lake area, Owl's Nest offers a peaceful retreat with beautiful lake views and the kind of privacy that makes it easy to unwind. This inviting 3-bedroom, 2-bath home is designed for guests who want to slow down, breathe in the fresh Maine air, and enjoy a quiet escape close to Greenville's best outdoor adventures.

    Inside, the home feels warm and welcoming, with a comfortable living room, a private entrance, and plenty of space for families or groups of up to 8 guests. The layout includes a queen bedroom, a second bedroom with a bunk bed, and another queen bedroom, creating flexible sleeping arrangements for adults and kids alike. Guests frequently mention how comfortable and well-kept the home feels, along with the thoughtful touches that make it easy to settle in right away.

    The kitchen is fully equipped for relaxed home-cooked meals. A dining area makes it simple to gather for breakfast before a day on the lake or dinner after exploring the region. The living spaces are also set up for easy downtime, with TV, internet, board games, and laptop-friendly features for remote work or planning your next outing.

    Step outside and enjoy the natural setting, where a garden, backyard space, outdoor seating, grill, decked area, fire pit, and beach access help you make the most of every season. A brief three-and-a-half-mile drive west will take you to downtown Greenville. Here you will find conveniences such as restaurants and shops as well as attractions like the Moosehead Marine Museum and the Greenville Seaplane Base.

    THINGS TO KNOW:
    - Air Conditioning: Please note that the home does not have AC.
    - Outdoor Firepit: Firewood is not provided, so you will need to bring your own if you plan to use the firepit.
    - Dock Access: The dock is suitable for a small fishing boat. However, please be aware that the water depth is shallow, especially at certain times of the year.

a gem in the wild

The home was the perfect base for exploring this beautiful area. We loved the dock, the crystal clear water, the loons, and the stars at night. It is remote so if you want a place close to town this is not for you, but we loved it!

Peaceful and majestic

We had a great experience! My kids loved the lake, paddleboarding, and atv riding. Coming back to such a relaxing and beautiful home on the lake after a day of activities was awesome:) We bqq'd, had bonfires, and played cards. Lovely and peaceful place, would definitely return.

Lovely cabin in a great quiet setting!

Serenity at its finest.

This house had well maintained and easy access to Wilson Pond. We very much enjoyed the quiet and listening to the loons. Loved the view of the pond from the house. Kitchen amenities were more than sufficient, and we were close enough to town if we needed something but far enough away to feel that we were way out in the wilderness. We can't wait to stay here again! Best house we've stayed in in Moosehead Lake region yet .

The home is cozy and spacious. Fishing from the dock with our kids was so fun! It was our first Vacasa rental, and first vacation staying with extended family. Inspired us to make more efforts like this. We would definitely return to The Owl’s Nest. Thank you!

Peaceful Getaway

We spent a very relaxing 5 days and 4 nights at the cabin with family. Communication related to our stay was great and the check in process was smooth. The camp itself had all the necessary amenities. The dock was perfect for our boat and the fishing was fun for the kids even though it was slow. We enjoyed time by the fire pit toasting s’mores and swimming in the pristine pond. Lot’s of memories made and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back to do it again.

Quiet get away

Place was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. Beautiful views and very quiet. It isn’t the best for swimming because of the rocks-but the water was very clear and we went in anyway. I do wish we had a canoe or kayak, but we all really enjoyed our trip and would recommend it to anyone. My teenage daughters didn’t want to leave!

Wonderful

On top of the great location, the place was very well kept and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay from a few simple spices in the cabinet to fire wood in the yard. Wonderful place, if you're not used to maine, try not to let the roads discourage you. Feel free to ask Vacasa or the caretaker for help navigating since gps doesn't show all the roads in the region. Once you arive though you may not want leave even to go home!

Fun Week

This is the second time we rented this house and loved it both times. You are 12 minutes from town, about 30 to really good hikes. Fishing is great everywhere. Love the lake access. House is designed great if you have dogs- metal screen over siding door screens and rubber grips on stairs. The staff was ver accommodating and quick to respond when i left an item in the house after chevkout. They helped me get my item quickly before new renters came. Highly recommend.

Third year in a row

This is our third year in a row staying here. 2 teens and 2 dogs. We all love it. I do wish there was a dishwasher so I could sterilize the dishes that are there. But instead, I just bring my own dishes- but that is my only complaint) I recommend renting a canoe from Wild Ones rental . We took the canoe out at sunrise and got an amazing view of the sun over the mountains. We got an amazing photo

Beautiful location

The house was nice and in a beautiful spot on Lower Wilson Pond, the dock was nice but if you’re looking for a swimming area the entrance to the water from here was very rocky, (perfectly manageable for our kids who did plenty of swimming 😊) The house itself offered plenty of space and lots of sleeping accommodations but the downstairs ceilings aren’t completely finished and the downstairs bathroom had some pipes/hoses (I believe carrying water to the upstairs bathroom) that were exposed and occasionally leaked which would make the floor a little wet but it was certainly manageable
