Camp Ciyole - Charming, Chic, Dog-Friendly! Walk to River, Hot Tub, Game Room

Camp Ciyole is full of thoughtful details and eccentric accents! “Campers” at Camp Ciyole experience the traditional amenities of the Russian River – a home tucked into a redwood forest, 5-minute walk to the river, and seasonal boats – plus the benefits of a seasoned vacation rental – a private hot tub, in-room TVs, lovingly updated kitchen, bathrooms, and interiors, and a ground-level game room. Ciyole (pronounced “kee-o-lay”) means “shady place” in the language of the Southern Pomo Tribe (the first inhabitants of the area), but the yard is bathed in sunlight as the day progresses!

Upstairs, you’ll enjoy 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, mostly open kitchen, dining, and living areas which open to an inviting back deck. Individual TVs in the bedrooms and roomy bathrooms – one off the hallway and one in the master suite – make for relaxed sleeping and bathing arrangements. Follow the interior stairs to the laundry room and separate game room with pool table, darts, and endlessly entertaining signs and ephemera – quirky and vintage touches. And outside you’ll delight in the fully fenced backyard with hot tub and seating areas. Can you find the “historical fairy cottage” in one of the hollow stumps? If you do, peek in the windows, but don’t go in!

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Camp Ciyole is 8 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

A Note About Our Cleaning Fees: Thank you for supporting our local business! When you stay with us, you support local families at work. We think everyone deserves a decent living wage, and we make sure to set the rates and fees so that our cleaners and employees earn a living wage in beautiful Sonoma County. The cleaning fee goes directly to the cleaners and inspectors for their hard work in making sure our guests have a wonderful and welcoming space to call home for their stay.

Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 4 vehicles. There are two parking spots in the driveway and one space in front of the fence dedicated to this home. Guests may use the garage for parking, but remotes are not available. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Heat Source: Central heat.

Rec/Game Room: The game room is an unheated, uninsulated space. Temperature varies throughout the year.

Location: Camp Ciyole is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park in the driveway and the spot in front of the fence and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Stairs: There are interior stairs from the entry area to the main living areas (bedrooms, kitchen, living room) and exterior stairs from the back deck to the backyard.

Pet Friendly: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at Camp Ciyole.

Fencing: The backyard is fully fenced.

A Note About TVs: The living room and each bedroom has a TV with cable (125+ channels) and one bedroom has a Roku.

Additional Amenities: The game room includes a pool table and darts and is located downstairs. Many beach/river items are available for guest use.

Common Amenities not included: This home does not have air conditioning.

Boats and River Access: These are seasonal amenities and only available when conditions allow. Expect boats when the summer dams are in (mid-June to mid- September). River access at Camp Ciyole is generally good spring through fall, but conditions vary from year to year and can change rapidly – use your best judgement to determine your risk level and comfort in the water/physical activity. There are 2 sit-on-top kayaks, available for use mid-June through September, with paddles and life vests in the garage.

Proximity to wineries: There are tasting rooms and a delightful wine bar in downtown Guerneville – approx. 1 mile – and more vineyards than you can visit within 10 miles. One of our favorite routes is along Westside Road which is approx. 5 miles from the house.

Nearest River Beach: Camp Ciyole is just around the corner from the Russian River – less than 5-minute walk.

Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches in Jenner are approximately 14 miles.
