”It's close to the port, so you can walk to your cruise ship; it's always nicely located just across the street from the West Quay Mall, which is a great way to kill time. It's also around a 10-minute walk from a lot of other shops and restaurants, making this an ideal location. You can park your car in the mall's multi-story parking garage, which is convenient, although it's an extra charge you have to think about.”

”Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. This is our second time staying and it definitely won’t be...

”Food poisoning the first night, rooms hotter than the sun, zero water pressure in the bathrooms. Constantly chasing staff for the most simple things. They ran out of ice. No fans for the rooms. No one collecting glasses or emptying an ash tray. Asked for a coffee in the morning and waited 15 minutes.. got up to ask where it was "oh i couldn't find you" yeah because you were in the kitchen flirting with the chef.. Could be such a wonderful place, if the staff weren't recreating Fawlty Towers”

”stayed for 1 week bed & breakfast. Checked in OK. Room size OK, but overlooking car-park with main road 50 metres away. Room furnished with freestanding pine double wardrobe accommodating full-sized ironing board, electric iron and hairdryer. space divided into 2, left side fore and aft clothes hanging rail (6 hangers),right side 3 shelves 2 drawers. The wardrobe double doors warped, difficult to open & close making loud squealing noise! the drawers were off their broken runners and operated...

”Usually when I’m not happy with a stay, I just put it down to experience and don’t bother to review it. Our stay at the Hawk was a long journey breaker, so we arrived latish, and left early. On this occasion I just think it is worth giving my thoughts, on room 4 at least: Positives - nice bedroom decor, lovely bed/ bedding, friendly staff. Negatives- TV… no signal, didn’t work at all, aerial lead simply didn’t fit properly… and had to have been that way for a while. Bathroom… some nice fittings,...
