Our stay at The Beach House Hotel Half Moon Bay was overall okay, but with a mix of positives and some frustrating issues.
The suites are quite small — there’s really no space to properly open two suitcases, which makes the stay less comfortable. On the positive side, I really appreciated that the room included proper dishes and cutlery (not plastic or paper), which is a nice and thoughtful touch. The fireplace was also a highlight and made the room feel cozy.
However, the bathroom was a major disappointment. The bathtub stopper (the open/close mechanism) didn’t work properly — it wouldn’t fully open or close. After using the bath, the water drained extremely slowly and took about an hour to go down. On top of that, the faucet kept running all night, which was very annoying.
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. I liked that there were many organic options, and the yogurt from a local farm was especially good. The croissants were also unexpectedly delicious.
Overall, the hotel is decent, but definitely has maintenance issues that need attention.
