”Enjoyed the stay. Kids took the bunk beds and the adult couples took a bedroom each. Kitchen and dining room were clean. Surrounding area ideal for walking / jogging. Plenty of coffee shops nearby. Highly recommended for large family group of 10-15 people. ”

”No one worked reception desk when I arrived. I waited along time with no help. I found the room key and went to the room. No towel, no hot water, no remote control for the TV. They turned off the electricity to the shower hot water, only on once a day, but never at the same time. ”

”when we first arrived at Halo Homestay - we were concerned because it was not in a very nice area. We didn't realise how big Halong Bay city is. we were expecting sleepy little fishing village!! NOT!! there are 2 distinct areas 1. locals 2. tourists. This homestay is in the locals area. ”I never write reviews, but I want to save others from the pain of this area. The staff was very unhelpful with everything. It was the first time in Vietnam that I felt unwelcome. They told me they would give me a ride to my cruise line, but when the time came they said they couldn’t. I then asked for a taxi and the staff told me they didn’t know where the cruise port was. I find it strange that a hotel in the area didn’t know where the cruise port was. I also asked how to get to Monkey Island...
