”The “marketing” photograph on Expedia was informative and true! Through the room’s window there was a beautiful view of grass in the foreground and the ocean beyond. (Even better from outside, standing on the adjacent mown grass.) The owner was friendly and helpful. It is quiet and pleasant. Nearby (a short drive) Honoka’a is a pleasant and unspoiled town with several dining choices. The room is also very conveniently located a few miles (another short drive) from the Waipi’o Valley Shuttle. The...
”We enjoyed staying here. As a big cat lover I was pleased of the friendly cats they had.
The only negative side was the noise which started between 7-8am on mornings. We stayed in unit number 1 so I think that the staff started their day in the room next to ours. Also a sponge for dishes in the room would be nice to have - now we had to borrow it from the kitchen. ”
”What a wonderful place! Great communication with the friendly host, Darin. The grounds are spectacular, with tropical plants and a beautiful waterfall. Very quiet, and very near the Waipi'o overlook. Apartment is very clean and nicely furnished. Loved the eclectic decor! Kitchen is great, with everything you need to cook in. (You're a bit far from town, so restaurants may not be an option, and everything closes early in that part of Hawaii!). But if you want a secluded, serene island...
”This property was the favorite lodging of the trip. Amazingly, it was not full. It is within 100 yards of Hawi’s main attraction, Kohala Zipline. The main building forms a square around a lawn-dominated garden: A vintage roadside motel combined with a cloister. Good dining choices are within a short walking or a slightly longer driving distance. Nearby sights/sites of interest include Pololu Beach and two churches in a New England style, both of which look great in the tropical setting.”
”When we arrived, there was a stain from some animal on the bed. As it was the Jungle and it was late, we didn’t think too much about saying anything. Other than that, it was an incredible location. Would love to come back and spend more time if given the chance! Mahalo!”
”Everything was incredible! Hosts Darin and Katerina went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. The stream, waterfall, profusion of foliage and flowers were all stupendous We've already reserved the Waterfall Cabin for next year.”
”We were greeted by the host when we arrived. The home was charming and conveniently close to town where our event was occurring. We enjoyed the artwork on the walls, comfortable beds, and the Kohala weather. We will definitely be staying here again if the opportunity aligns.”
