”This is the second time we have stayed at Peckforton Castle On this occasion we had a nicer room with a fabulous view of the front lawn. We visited the wine cellar bar but were disappointed to find that we were unable to pursue a menu over pre dinner drinks , because they were “ printed daily “ it would have been nice to look at it before being seated Dinner in the brasserie was disappointing on this visit and had deteriorated significantly since our previous meal there. ”The room was clean and very compact, it lacked appeal but had most of the amenities you would want at this price. There is no interaction with staff at all as self check in, the heating wasn’t on although the radiator in the hall was hot, one curtain hardly covered the window, my room,2, was at the front of the property so people leaving the pub were talking loudly at 11.30/12pm and then again at 1am which woke me up, the shower was good, the wash basin so tiny you couldn’t get the tiny kettle...

”Generally the rooms are to a high standard. The breakfasts are excellent, and the staff really friendly. Easy car parking. Only quibble is that we tried to book another 2 day stay, the system didn’t allow this - wanted 3 or more: this may vary with time of year.”

”Lovely stay overall- had evening meal overlooking river which was really nice- breakfast good. Rooms slightly tired but all ok for a short stay. Would recommend overall”

”Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. On arrival we were met by Molly who showed us to our room. We stayed on a bank holiday weekend and the bar area was very busy, great outdoor area with Mexican bar. We booked the double superior room (room 1) which has plenty of space. Huge four poster bed. Large en-suite with large shower. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate facilities provided in room. TV, Hair dryer, ironing board, fan also in the room.The only issue that maybe a problem is the room...

”Staff so friendly and helpful. Found room quite warm in the day but in evening was able to open windows fully to get some air in (stayed in April). I imagine would be very hot in summer even with fan provided in room. Walls are very thin, not a problem for me as thankfully my neighbours were quiet but I know other people were not so lucky. Was able to do me a vegan breakfast in the morning which I was happy with. I would stay again if I was in the area and needed a good value place to stay. ”
