We had the cheapest room which may not be for everyone since it is right above the kitchen and the ceiling is really low (I think it's around 190cm). But otherwise, the bed was comfy and breakfast was filling.

Great location & a lovely caring staff. Breakfast was good & plentiful. Anna, Emma, David were excellent hosts & extremely helpful w recommendations. I had booked some tours in advance but should have used them directly. Rooms in the front are the best & not noisy

The location is excellent and the staff is informative, professional, and friendly. We planned our transport to Ninh Binh, airport transfers and our overnight stay in Ha Long Bay with Golden Rooster. Anna replied promptly to all emails which made the process simple and stress-free. Thank you Anna, Emma and all other staff at Golden Rooster.

Zu Beginn waren wir mit dem Hotel sehr zufrieden. Das Zimmer war in Ordnung, nur leider ohne Fenster. Das Personal war zu Beginn freundlich und bemüht - später leider nicht mehr! Wir buchten über das Hotel einen Bus nach SaPa. Hierfür bestellten wir zum Frühstück Omelett als Take away (wir hatten das Frühstück mitgebucht und bezahlt). Die junge Mitarbeiterin meinte zuerst, dass die Fahrt sehr kurvig ist und riet uns von dem Essen ab. Nachdem wir aber gesagt haben, dass wir nicht empfindlich sind, bestätigte sie uns, dass sie uns das Essen für Take away vorbereiten. Als wir um 6 Uhr morgens das Hotel verließen, erhielten wir jedoch nur ein Lunchpaket mit weißem Toast (den wir nicht essen). Unser Frühstück viel also aus. Leider mussten wir zudem in Hanoi 1:15 h warten, bis der Bus überhaupt startete. Außerdem brachte uns der Bus nicht bis an unser Hotel. Da die Rezeptionistin uns kommunizierte, dass wir dem Busfahrer unser Hotel nennen sollen, war für uns klar, dass wir bis zum Hotel gebracht werden. Fehlanzeige! Daraufhin kontaktierten wir das Hotel um ein Feedback abzugeben. Was uns wirklich enttäuscht hat war die Reaktion! Es wurde alles abgestritten und es wurde uns sogar unterstellt, dass wir nie ein Frühstück bestellt haben! Wir empfinden dieses Verhalten als sehr unprofessionell und hätten uns zumindest ein Entgegenkommen gewünscht.

Wir entschuldigen uns aufrichtig für die Erfahrung, die Sie gemacht haben.Bezüglich der Frage des Frühstücks bedauern wir das Missverständnis sehr. Wir sind bereit, Omelett zum Frühstück zum Mitnehmen zu liefern. Ich habe das Gehalt der Rezeption für den Erhalt von Informationen erinnert und abgezogen.Was die Sapa-Tour betrifft, werden Sie mit dem Tourpaket (mit dem Bus) nur in der Stadt Sapa abgesetzt, danach gehen Sie alleine zum Hotel. Nur das Paket (mit der Limousine) bringt die Gäste bis zur Tür des Hotels in Sapa. Im Namen der Rezeption möchte ich mich für das Missverständnis entschuldigen.Das Hotel wird vom Eigentümer geführt, daher steht für uns immer das Wort „Vertrauen“ an erster Stelle, um sicherzustellen, dass wir unseren Kunden das beste und zufriedenste Erlebnis bieten.“ Wir haben das erwähnte Problem berücksichtigt und stellen sicher, dass in Zukunft keine ähnlichen Erfahrungen mehr passieren. Sollten Sie zufällig nach Hanoi zurückkehren, erlauben Sie uns bitte, Sie beim nächsten Mal angemessen unterzubringen. Wir wünschen Ihnen einen wunderschönen Tag und alles Gute. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, 7 nights, the staff were informed, welcoming, attentive 24 hours a day. Anna and Emma were especially excellent, helping us feel at home. The position of the hotel is fabulous to walk to most of the areas to visit. I would most definitely return to this hotel again, and have no questions about refering it to other travellers to Hanoi.

It's a great hotel with all the expected amenities and more. The staff is always ready to help. The breakfast was more than what is offered at other hotels in the price range. The location is 10 minutes away from the party area, so that can be a plus for some. Cheaper rooms normally have no window or a window that opens to nothing.

The staff were lovely and helpful and there were lots of cafes and restaurants to eat nearby, the only issue we had was that we arrived after a long flight on an a very hot afternoon. When we were taken up to the room (rooster 6) it was boiling hot as heat rises, the swipe card wouldn’t open the door so we had to use the key and jiggle it. This didnt work the whole time. The room was overwhelmingly hot and we had to have the air cond on high, plus a fan on the floor, all night. This resulted in no sleep due to the noise of both electrical items. It took over an hour to even cool the room down enough to go to bed. I feel this is a common thing with this room. Our friends were in the room the next floor down (rooster 5) and said the ceiling was so low they had to crouch to get under the shower head. My girlfriend is only around 175cm tall so they said they felt claustrophobic the whole time. On a good point the breakfast was really nice with quite a few options and the hot food choice changed daily. Emmy was very nice and got us a driver to the airport cheaper than a grab ride. She asked me to keep to myself the issue with the heat and door key but if I did that then people would book and not be aware of this. I would have booked a different hotel had we known about all this in advance, so sorry Emmy people need to know the truth.

Great centrally located hotel in Old Quarters
The staff at this hotel were incredibly helpful, accommodating and friendly. Our flight arrived late and the front staff stayed waiting for us to check-in before locking the front door for the night. We had booked a couple of tours with Sarah, who was very patient in answering and providing information as we deliberating among the various options available. Emma was also the other notable staff member that helped us immensely with our planning. The property is very centrally located in the Old Quarters and within easy walking distance to other parts of that area. Although quite busy in the morning, this area was relatively quiet at night. Rooms are basic but clean. Linen was changed everyday and complimentary bottled water was provided. The number of electrical plugs in our room was very limited but we did manage by unplugging a table lamp to free one up. The air conditioning unit as well as the lights in the room only operates when the room key is inserted into a power activating slot. This means after after spending a hot and humid day outside, you are returning to a warm room. The AC does kick in quickly but it would have been nice to come back to a cool room. The breakfast was good and was included in our rate. It is best to get the breakfast area a little earlier since some of the hot dishes are left in warmers for the entire breakfast session. Overall the hotel met if not exceeded our expectations.

Best in Hanoi
I have already stayed at the hotel in the past. The hotel is located close to all local attractions (Ta Hien Beer Street, Phố Đi Bộ Hồ Gươm, King Le Thai To's Temple, etc.) and offers a very pleasant atmosphere. The hotel is modern and clean. The room and bathroom are clean and there are enough of towels. The hotel offers TRAVEL SERVICE and it is a service that we could not get around without. Sarah at the travel desk arranged for us full-day trips in Ha Long, Ninh Binh and also individual transportation by bus and car in other parts of Vietnam. Sarah was a wonderful help to us with all of our tours and transportation. This was all absolutely amazing. If we visit Hanoi again in the future, we will use this hotel and its services again.

The staff are a credit to this hotel
Great location in the old quarter. Clean, spacious room with everything you need. What makes this hotel stands out though is the staff. They really go out of their way to provide a wonderful service - Sarah is really efficient and great at her job, Luke is nice and friendly, and I've never met a friendlier person than Emma, she's the real star of the show! Hopefully I'll be back! :)

Cozy and convenient, friendly and helpful staff
Golden Rooster is a convenient place to stay in a central location in Hanoi. Easily walkable to many cafes, restaurants, and tourist attractions. We appreciated the option for airport pickup, making our arrival to Hanoi very easy. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and attentive, especially Phương, Hiểu, Sara, and Kevin- thank you! Best in Hanoi
The hotel is nice and clean. The hotel staff is very helpful and polite. My room was clean and the bathroom had enough of towels. The wifi was good. The breakfast was tasteful. The hotel has a travel office and they helped me arrange 3 trips in advance from my country in Europe - this is unique service that I very appreciated. If I am in Hanoi in the future I will definitely accommodate in this hotel again.

Though upon checking in was not what I have expected. Due to my schedule, we were taken care off by the hotel manager Emma on matters of the room situation. The hotel is conveniently located within walking destination to the lake, train street, night market, cho dong Xuan and several eateries and cafes. Snacks are served daily together with Vietnam coffee, tea & cold beverage all day at the lobby. With breakfast included-one could have choices of light breakfast such as Vietnamese fried or non-fried roll, salad, bread or even porridge at times. Special orders are eggs & pho to order inclusively. I must say I had an enjoyable trip as the staffs in the hotel was heartwarming especially Emma. Highly recommended 👍

Very good hotel in Hanoi
This is a very nice, clean and cozy hotel in the old quarter of Hanoi. It is within a walking distance to many capital city attractions, restaurants, cafe, and also the famous train street. The staffs are very nice and helpful in many ways. The breakfast is very good and is serving around 7am everyday. Highly recommended.
