”First room had no ac but staff handled a change quite quickly. The whole hotel and restaurant was completely overwhelmed - not sure if it was due to the full house or a lack of staff but they all kept a smiling face and tried to help everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible. Would recommend but perhaps not in a busy weekend. Parking and drop off was a major problem”

”Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. This is our second time staying and it definitely won’t be...

”Excellent place to stay. We went to Peppa Pig World for multiple days, and really enjoyed the beatiful and comfortable place to stay. Food was also great. Staff was super friendly. Was our 2nd stay and will come back! ”

”stayed for 1 week bed & breakfast. Checked in OK. Room size OK, but overlooking car-park with main road 50 metres away. Room furnished with freestanding pine double wardrobe accommodating full-sized ironing board, electric iron and hairdryer. space divided into 2, left side fore and aft clothes hanging rail (6 hangers),right side 3 shelves 2 drawers. The wardrobe double doors warped, difficult to open & close making loud squealing noise! the drawers were off their broken runners and operated...

”Great location and buffet breakfast was good. However, to use the pool and spa facilities they asked for a £10 per day per person surcharge as hotel not booked direct, this was not made clear at booking. Ate in restaurant one evening, quality of meal was poor.”

”Room was clean. The room had working air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent. Would recommend this Southampton hotel. Location was adequate with goid access to the train station and a lengthy (30 minutes) walk to the old town center. For the American travelers, the hotel does not provide wash cloths with the towels. Odd. Nonetheless, a very nice hotel.”

”An interesting, slightly quirky but genuine old-style coaching house and all the better for it. Staff are excellent, breakfast great, dinner slightly more mixed - maybe should have gone for the pizzas. Lively and busy in the evening, nice and chilled otherwise.”

”Lovely comfy room, fan provided during the extreme heat. Lovely small, mostly shaded, terrace at the back of the hotel. Delicious breakfast and very helpful, friendly staff. There is one set of steep, narrow stairs to get to the rooms although help was offered to carry up our case.”

”Food poisoning the first night, rooms hotter than the sun, zero water pressure in the bathrooms. Constantly chasing staff for the most simple things. They ran out of ice. No fans for the rooms. No one collecting glasses or emptying an ash tray. Asked for a coffee in the morning and waited 15 minutes.. got up to ask where it was "oh i couldn't find you" yeah because you were in the kitchen flirting with the chef.. Could be such a wonderful place, if the staff weren't recreating Fawlty Towers”
