Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Located just 4 miles from downtown Harrisonburg, Virginia, this charming brick home will be your central location for adventure and excitement.

Whether you're visiting the area for a weekend getaway, a wedding, a graduation, a JMU, EMU, or Bridgwater event, or anything else, the Martin Cottage is the perfect place to stay to experience our area!

There is a 240 volt/50 amp car plug. You will need to bring your own cord.

Our oldest daughter and husband and 4 adult children, one fiancé and one girlfriend. The space was very good for all of them. They really liked how clean everything was, kitchen supplies, rec room, that box of Warfels candy and overall layout of the house. Owner Eliot was very prompt in answering any questions.

From the time I booked, I knew we would have a great stay, the host reached out and was very helpful and answered all of my questions immediately. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a home that was immaculate, comfortable and beautiful decorated. You can tell the owners took great pride in every detail, there was nothing more we could have asked for. We loved everything about the home from relaxing in the comfortable living room to playing competitive rounds of ping pong. There was plenty of room to spread out as well as spacious areas to gather. I hope to have a reason to return to Harrisonburg as I would love to stay here again.

Great location and super clean!

We had a fabulous stay for a weekend visit with siblings/souses! This place is immaculate and has all the homey touches you could imagine. It was easy to check in and property rules were simple and precise. This was our second time staying here and we will definitely be back again! Highly recommend!

Practically perfect in every way!

We had the most amazing stay at this lovely home! The property is immaculate and so well appointed. The host thought of every comfort a guest could want. We had lots of visits from wildlife in the backyard which was fun to watch and we were so close to everything. We look forward to staying here again when we are in the area!

Perfect!

I've rented many VRBOs over the years and this was the best one I've stayed in by far. First, it was immaculately clean. I'm not overly picking about rentals, but one thing I care about is cleanliness. I had zero worries here. Next, the property was tastefully decorated with wonderfully comfortable furniture, nothing cheap or fragile here. Beautiful live edge tables here and there, comfy sofa, recliners and everyone said the beds were awesome. We all slept well. The house was easy to get to. I was there with 2 friends for a conference in Dayton, and it was only about 15 minutes from the house. Eliot let us know that we could have early entry, which was really helpful. We were able to drop our things off and have our lunch there before leaving for the conference. After a 4 hour car ride, that was a nice break. And the chocolates left for us were also appreciated. I'll be keeping tabs on this place and should I ever need to be back in the area again, it will be first on my list of places to stay.

Our Favorite Vacation Rental!

This was the best rental we have ever stayed in! It was so roomy and comfortable, well stocked and at a great location. We especially enjoyed playing ping-pong in the basement "playroom" after a long drive. It helped us unwind and relieve anxiety before getting ready for our daughter's wedding weekend. The owner was very attentive and easy to communicate with. We would love to come back again!

Excellent home near JMU

This is the nicest home our family has ever rented. Everything was extremely clean and welcoming when we arrived. Very easy to check in & out. The host was quick to reply to any questions and to give instructions prior to check in. The beds are very comfortable and a lot of towels & blankets were laid out for each room. The home comes stocked with everything that you need. Quick drive to JMU & downtown Harrisonburg so we highly recommend.

This home was great for our large family! Our kids loved the big back yard, ping pong table, and board games. The home was well stocked and all we really needed to do was show up with our clothes. Also, the owner was very responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful home

The home was clean, well maintained and had everything you could want or need, including a coffee station and USB plugs on bedstands. I have family in town so we were able to have a dinner for 10 people there with enough space for us all to sit down and eat together. The upstairs was easy for my mom (who uses a walker) to navigate but there are a couple steps to get in the front door. There is no TV in the living room but every bedroom has a TV so that was fine. The downstairs would be perfect for teens with ping pong, corn hole and other games plus a TV and their own bathroom. Note that there is no door between the upstairs and downstairs but there are curtains you can pull for privacy for the bed downstairs. Kitchen was well-equipped. The house is right off of a 4-lane highway but the traffic noise was not noticeable. And the circular drive made it easy to get in and out. I'd stay there again!

Gem in Harrisonburg

This is our second time staying at this home, first since Eliot became owner/manager. The home is extremely well stocked, it is clean and quiet. Eliot was so responsive and such a great host. We love the coffee bar, and the comfy couches. It is so close to downtown Harrisonburg, where we enjoyed some great restaurants. We will be coming back again next year for our third year and can't wait.

Beat rental ever

This property is beyond fabulous. We have rented places all over the US. The house is in a handy area, perfectly appointed and very well stocked and incredibly clean. There are comfortable beds and 3 baths. This is the best property we have ever rented. The amenities and coffee bar were such a bonus.
