”This is a fabulous place to stay. A beautiful old property full of charm. Our bedroom was the best we have ever stayed in. The food is exceptional and even includes a packed lunch. Beautiful walks straight from the door. The staff are all charming and helpful. Highly recommend a stay here”

”I paid £55 for family room, apparently other rooms start at £35. I didn’t need the family room but surprisingly it was all that they had left. The Hotel is undergoing some much needed refurbishment, everything about the hotel is dated, and either worn out or broken. The carpets were thread bear in places and had tape over some of the larger holes. The floors were very uneven to walk over. The furniture was very dated. The bedroom door was just a lightweight internal door, and not a fire rated...

”The hotel is in a prime position for visiting Buxton or touring the area. We were able to check in a little earlier and quickly sorted the 24hr pass for parking right outside the hotel. It felt very secure. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bathroom had a powerful hot shower and lovely fluffy towels. The room is a little tired and could do with a quick makeover. ”This was our second time in the hotel. We asked for the same room (in advance) and we got it . I wish there was air conditioning in the rooms. I love the little tea room with daily cake! It makes me feel like on a skiing holiday in a chalet”
