Majatalot – Henley-on-Thames

”The setting for this hotel is exceptional- directly overlooking the Thames and open countryside. The hotel is conveniently situated, only a ten minute walk from the station and five minutes walk from the High Street. Lovely room, spotlessly clean, wonderful pool and good breakfast. Would highly recommend.”

”My bijou little room was on the first floor of the inn (as opposed to some rooms they have in separate buildings). Quite a nice little room but no view and I had to climb onto the bed to open the velux window. When I opened the bathroom window I had unfortunate cooking smells from the kitchen extractor which was a few feet away, so I only opened it outside meal times. There was no information in the room so I had to wait until the morning to get the WiFi code - I think this should have been...

”Seemed clean enough but was a bit of a dive. Noisy with fire doors banging. Parking to check in was difficult until got access to the parking thru the barrier, probably limited parking if you arrive late.”

”We stayed in one of the rooms next to the property met eventually by a lady whos English was not brilliant but pleasant, microwave in entrance to our room with piles of leaflets next to it definitely a safety issue, mismatch furniture cobwebs light switches dirty, bathroom mats tatty, sink plug not attached to chain, no pull cord for the toilet only the chain . lots of cables connected to extension leads. Breakfast plates cold food warm, no teapot only mug with teabag in it individual honey...

”We liked having plenty of space. Plenty of room with a table and 2 chairs. Communication was acceptable. The carpet looks like it has never been cleaned. The bath towels were stiff and very ruff on my skin. The mattress was not very comfortable. Courtyard view was a joke. It was a small area maybe 6ft by 7 ft highlighted by an old wooden table a chairs. It was in need of a cleaning. I can’t recommend this place”
