”After meeting our friends and spending an evening in Cambridge we returned to the crown and punchbowl for a night cap before bed and and found the bar was shut up and all staff had gone home. It was 10.45pm. So our evening ended quite abruptly. Our room which was on the first floor, was a little on the small side, with only a skyline window, and unfortunately the blind didn't keep the light out, so it was very bright at 5am. ”Great place to stay if you’re off to the races, 15mins by car or Taxi. The pub does not provide a breakfast but their evening meals are good, and the staff are friendly. The rooms are at the back of the pub and have ensuite bathrooms, tea, coffee and water bottles in the mini fridge. The linen and towels were all fresh and the bed very comfortable. ”

”Visited this hotel 5-6 times. I like the quiet room and comfortable beds. Only the last experience was bad...bed sheet and pillow cases not changed, smells stinky and feel itchy, not sure it's dirt or bed bugs.”

Unfortunately the music from the reception area was booming all day and night so I got little to no sleep. Very disappointing when on a business trip and needing to be well rested the next day. By 11.30 pm I went to reception and asked them to turn it down. Originally I had thought it was some kind of disco from the restaurant it was so loud! ”So bad soundproofing that we were able to hear our neighbours talking and coughing. Also some dog was barking outside in the morning. Breakfast was average. Location was OK but due to roadwork it took long to get there from the city. The water pressure in the shower was so weak that I couldn't wash my tick hair. Not worth the money. ”
