”Visited as we had a family funeral with the wake being held at the Bannatyne hotel. As a family we couldn’t recommend it more, we were given a room upgrade which was lovely. Breakfast was excellent with great choice for everyone. Would definitely stay again.”

”Nice hotel, an older building with a more modern extension. Professional friendly and service oriented staff everywhere. We just had an anniversary night away and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dinner was excellent and well served and waited on. Our bedroom wasn’t air conditioned and that would have been a bonus as it was in the 30s outside, however the fan in the room was a life saver. Other rooms do have aircon so it’s worth asking.”

”We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The staff made us feel welcome and well looked after. There was a good choice of food for both breakfast and dinner, cooked to a high standard. Our room was spacious and clean, offering plenty of comfort throughout our stay. The only downside was that some of the furniture felt a little tired and could benefit from an update, but it didn’t detract from the overall experience. ”Helpful staff and a relatively clean hotel cannot makeup for no air conditioning in rooms, which were stiflingly hot during our stay during a UK summer heat wave. Unfortunately the small plug in fan and safety-secured windows did little to alleviate the stuffiness and heat in the rooms. Overall it’s a lovely location with relaxing grounds but the aging decor in common areas, corridors and rooms is in desperate need of an update, even in the chosen eclectic style.”
