Enjoy endless water views and a relaxed, vacation vibe in this stunning Taroona retreat. Perched above the Derwent River, the home offers uninterrupted vistas and the luxury of an outdoor infinity pool, perfect for laps or leisurely dips. Set in a peaceful location just 10 minutes from Hobart’s CBD, it’s an ideal escape for unwinding with family or a group of up to six friends.

The Space:
Nestled in peaceful Taroona and just a 15 minute drive from Hobart’s CBD, this waterfront retreat offers an ideal blend of relaxation and adventure. Set right on the edge of the Derwent River, the property boasts breathtaking views and a stunning outdoor infinity pool. During the summer, the pool is typically heated to a comfortable 28 degrees, although it may vary with weather conditions. Outside these months, the pool is unheated but still available for a refreshing dip. Please note the pool is surrounded by large gumtrees which typically drop leaves into the pool on windy days. A pool scoop is on site for guests to remove leaves.

The entry level features an open-plan dining and lounge area, a fully-equipped galley kitchen, and a spacious master bedroom with an ensuite – all with stunning views of the river and pool. A second bedroom and bathroom with a bath complete the main floor. Downstairs, you’ll find another lounge and bedroom, both with water views, as well as a separate toilet. The master bedroom includes a king bed, the second bedroom a queen, and the third a double, with an option for a seventh guest on the sofa bed in the lower lounge.

Step outside to a spacious, level grassed area with direct access to the stunning foreshore. Just moments away, explore the Taroona foreshore track, ideal for peaceful riverside walks. Head to the nearby Picnic Basket café for a cozy breakfast, visit the historic Shot Tower for panoramic views, or enjoy hiking trails at Alum Cliffs. Though the property is fully fenced, please note it’s set on a cliff, so young children should be supervised. This Taroona haven is perfect for those seeking tranquility, comfort, and a touch of adventure.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire property during their stay.

Taroona is a serene coastal suburb offering a perfect mix of natural beauty and convenient proximity to Hobart’s highlights. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning views over the Derwent River, Taroona is ideal for those looking to relax, explore, and enjoy outdoor activities. The suburb is home to the historic Shot Tower, a fascinating landmark with panoramic views, and offers beautiful walking trails like the Alum Cliffs Track and foreshore paths that wind along the water's edge.

Just a short drive away is the vibrant Lower Sandy Bay shopping precinct, where you'll find a variety of charming boutiques, cafes, and amenities. Here, Long Beach and Nutgrove Beach provide sandy shores and gentle waves perfect for swimming, picnics, or simply soaking up the sun. With its blend of natural attractions and easy access to Hobart’s city amenities, Taroona is a hidden gem for visitors wanting both tranquility and convenience.

Getting Around:
Getting around Taroona is convenient and accessible, whether you’re exploring on foot, by car, or using public transport. The suburb has scenic walking paths, like the Taroona Foreshore Track, which lets you enjoy beautiful riverside strolls and easy access to nearby landmarks like the Shot Tower and Alum Cliffs. For quick trips to Hobart’s CBD, Lower Sandy Bay, or nearby beaches, a car is ideal and allows you to explore the area at your own pace.

Public transport is also a great option, with regular Metro bus services connecting Taroona to Hobart and surrounding suburbs. Buses run frequently along the main road, making it easy to reach Hobart’s city center or popular spots like Long Beach and the Lower Sandy Bay shopping precinct. Whether you’re here to unwind or explore, Taroona’s scenic routes and reliable transport options make getting around a breeze.

Other Things to Note:
There is a sliding door from the master bedroom directly onto the pool area which would allow guests to bypass the safety fence. For this reason this door has been locked and will not be accessible during your stay. Children must be supervised at all times.

It should be noted that the property is positioned on a cliff and although it is fully-fenced, the fence is low and young children should be supervised at all times.

The pool is generally heated to 28 degrees during the summer months however this is also influenced by environmental conditions. Please note the pool will not be heated outside of these times but is still available to you should you wish to use it.

Please note that the SPA is Out of Order until further notice.

The property is situated in a residential neighbourhood and therefore we politely remind guests to keep noise down and for no outdoor noise between the hours of 9pm and 8am.

Interaction with Guests:
Guests are left to enjoy the property in private.

School holiday break

Property was exactly as advertised. Absolutely amazing views as soon as you walk in the front door. Easy access to property and no issues with the operation of anything. Very seamless visit. Easy 15-min drive to Hobart CBD and all other tourist locations.
