”The gym was exceptional for a spa hotel and the breakfast was very pleasant however we did find that the hotel itself was quite dated and the rooms were in need of a bit of updating. The bathroom especially could use some modernization.”

”Basic normal rooms. Room service was disaster. Recommend to avoid it. Took time and you can get better prepared food everywhere. Location and the hotel itself is beautiful. Nice walks around the hotel area.”

”Didn’t love this hotel. Best thing was the staff. But the rooms are tired. The gas stoves weren’t working, so only pizzas & burgers were available and then we had a fire alarm going off at 3am. So wouldn’t go again.”

”I would never recommend this place to anyone. The staff don’t return emails answer phones or return phone calls. Check-in ends at 9 PM and if you aren’t there you can’t get into your room. I’ve travelled the world and never in my life had such bad customer service. The Travelodge however has excellent staff clean rooms and comfortable beds. At nearly half the price is an exceptionally better value.”

”We had a lovely stay at Cuckoo Cottage and would happily return. The location is excellent for exploring the Peak District, with beautiful walks straight from the doorstep, including Lathkill Dale. The swimming pool was a real bonus after a day of walking, and the games room was great fun, with pool, table tennis, darts, giant Jenga and other games available.
