”The room was spotless and cozy. The free breakfast was yummy. It's not too far from the cool places in Manchester.”

”The room we had (no.32) was ‘pokey’. We felt the meals, coffees etc were expensive- the same as London prices. The receptionist did not explain very well how to get into the hotel’s car park, using the Picture Drome as a significant point. You don’t see it until you have passed it. The people coming out of the night club were noisy until 2am affecting our sleep. We wouldn’t recommend it to friends and we come to the area annually and will be unlikely to stay again”

”We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner downstairs. There was plenty of parking space. The hotel was well maintained considering how old the house itself is.”

”The Huntsman Inn is a beautiful property with amazing staff and incredible views. The place was very well maintained and the staff were incredibly wonderful and friendly. It's a shame we only stayed one night and would love to go back here again. The room was cost and warm, the food was good and was definitely worth the trip. ”

”First stay here for a party in Brighouse. Superb welcome from staff on arrival and shown to our room. Accommodation is across the road from the pub and events so nice and quiet and a great space at the front of the building for a evening drink. Very interesting range of ales and other drinks in the pub and an excellent breakfast. The corridors of the accommodation be lye how nice the rooms themselves are, very comfy mattresses and pillows and big towels that wrap around you properly. Highly...

”Hotel is right in the heart of Buxton, a convenient walk from the station. It was absolutely buzzing the whole time we were there - bands both nights, live sport in the day, but with the rooms being in a separate building out the back of the pub, it was amazingly quiet after the yard had been emptied. Clean throughout, staff were friendly.”

”My single room was compact but clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were the most friendly I’ve ever encountered, nothing was too much bother. The hotel was full of character, a pleasure just to sit and have a beer. Location at the top of the hill was a perfect starting point to explore the village. Definitely recommend staying here.”

We were walking 7 “Ethels” in the Dark Peak and all were easily accessible from Martha’s Cottage so ideal for our purposes. Pie Night at the Pickled Pheasant was also a nice discovery!”
