”The view of the mountains is stunning. The house is comfortable with plenty of space. It is well equipped with a delightful garden. Portinscale is a lovely setting with a very nice cafe and pub.”

”We had a wonderful stay with our dogs. It is a lovely fully equipped cosy cottage with great views. It’s is in a lovely spot of Braithwaite. The only warning is to be VERY careful leaving the drive as it’s on a blind bend in both directions on a single car road. The garden is lovely and I imagine it will be beautiful to sit outside in Summer.”

”We have recently returned from a 4 night break at Tawny cottage. Already knowing the Keswick area well we knew Portinscale would suit us well - outside the bustle of Keswick but within easy walking distance down a nice path, and easy access to local country walks. The cottage was immaculate in both cleanliness and decor - and well equipped - with off street parking. Our adult daughter had the 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds ( would have been a perk if was 2 singles which could be set up as a King...

”This is an excellent house in superb state of repair with very good quality furniture. It is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The booking process was simple and Martin Wardle of the agents was extremely helpful. The house is situated in a village which is very near Kendal, the lakes and just over one hour to the Solway coast. There are some very good dining places in the area with our favourite being The Watermill Inn which has its own micro brewery producing very tasty beers. All in all...
