”This was the best hotel we stayed at in Japan. It was brand new and the design was so stylish. A boutique, luxury hotel. The room was amazing - spacious, luxurious and airy with great views over Kyoto to the hills. Such a pleasure to relax in and come back to after our days out in Kyoto. The metro and train station was steps away which made it easy to get around and also to leave for Osaka.
The main street into downtown Kyoto from Gion was also steps away but because the hotel is on a side...

”Excellent place to stay in Gion. Really nice location, convenient. Attentive staff but they will not get in your way. Nice bathroom with a Japanese-style shower and tub area. Very clean and nice amenities. Although no breakfast provided, they provide suggestions and a convenience store is right across the street.”

”Das Hotel lag super zentral im Viertel und man war schnell bei der U-Bahn Station. Es lag in einer ruhigeren Seitenstraße jedoch genau im Bar/Partyviertel. In meinem Zimmer konnte ich aber zum Glück keine Geräusche davon hören.
Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und recht groß für japanische Verhältnisse. Ich kann das Hotel nur empfehlen!”

”We stayed twice at the Yura Hotel while travelling in Japan.
In our opinion there is nothing that compares with the level of hospitality, quality of service and the accommodation itself.
Upon arrival we were greeted with extremely friendly staff that went all the way to make sure we felt welcomed. From the registration onwards the entire stay was made as easy as possible. While the staff may not be fluent in English, their hospitality and effort makes up for the potential lack in vocabulary....

”Altmodisches, aber gut erhaltenes Hotel mit Luxus-Flair. Nette Aussicht in oberen Stockwerken. Besonders aufmerksames, zuvorkommendes, hilfsbereites und vorbildliches Personal!!! Direkter Zugang zur U-Bahn mit vielfältigen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants. Weitere Bahnstrecke ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Ideale Lage mit kurzen Wegen zu den beliebtesten Vierteln. Sehr gutes Frühstück mit toller Aussicht von allen Plätzen!”
"The hotel was in a very convenient place right next to Teramachi Street. Bus from Kyoto station stops right in front of the hotel. A lot of food places nearby. Sound echoes in the hotel a bit so you can hear e.g. the hallway sounds easily."
"The hotel is located nicely in the middle of a shopping area and not too far from 2 different subway lines. Only downside with the location is that a taxi cant really get right infront of the hotel but it's not a long walk (3 minutes) from the closest drop off location.
Checking in and out is easy and quick with the self service desks and there is staff to help if you require assistance.
Didnt have much interraction with the staff except for one at reception and the cleaning staff of the floor and all were very friendly.
Only downside (for me) was how hard the bed was but that's a preference thing.
With all that said unless the hotel prices itself out it will stay on my radar for when I come to Kyoto again (6 days is not enough!)."
"Great experience! The room was good sized and I loved the separate space in the entrance. Room was clean and had everything you need including charges and little macha set. Breakfast was really good and had a lot options and the public bath was nice. Hotel is not beside any big roads and not in the middle of everything so the area is quiet but still close to subway and bus lines. "
