” The room didn’t really have a balcony, just a very narrow space about 12” wide that you could stand on, no chairs would fit. Also, the ocean view was very very small. These two things were very disappointing since the room was advertised as having a balcony. Our room smelled heavily like marijuana when we first arrived, and the toilet had not been cleaned. When we asked to switch rooms, we were told they were at 98% capacity, and there were no comparable rooms. So the value for what we paid...

Honolua Bay is your reward stop after driving the rugged mountainous nearly one-lane road along Maui's Northern-most tip of the island. This road is legal and accessible with a normal vehicle, but it's a bit of a harrowing drive, so be very cautious and honk when coming around bends.

Honolua Bay is a great place to snorkel, have a swim, or lay on the hot rocks. While here, be sure to visit the Coconut Caboose mobile truck, serving all-natural shaved ice made from frozen raw coconut water, hand-cracked by the owner and founder himself. They also serve delicious organic, vegan gelato all using coconut as the base instead of milk. The owner has amazing sustainable values, and all of his products are compostable and made of cane sugar instead of plastic. Now THIS is a business we support!
