”Fantastic old property that has been sympathetically restored / converted with fantastic rooms. Brilliant breakfast and typical Peak District hospitality….. Easy walk into the village too, where there’s shops and a couple of very good pubs too. We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed longer…. Hell Yeah!”

”Close to the M1 and as we were visiting family it was in the right place and there was shopping nearby which was excellent. The hotel was easy to find and everything was excellent especially the staff who were very polite and helpful. When we visit again in the new year we will be staying here again.”

”One night stay was good for what we needed just very dusty , cobwebs everywhere , dust in the air vent in the bathroom , cracks and screws hanging out. Would stay again as the room is adequate just needs abit of a clean. ”

”This was our second trip to the lion at Belpur, and though we couldn’t have the bigger room this time, the room we had was still adequate for what we wanted. Always good friendly staff, who are more than willing to help. The pub is located in a good area, close to shops and high street, and the mills and gardens. Fantastic time which is why we returned. ”

The staff are very friendly and helpful, rushed off their feet as most places, but knew what they were doing. Food was lovely and varied, breakast and dinner”

”It was great. Staff wonderful, food great communications excellent, only slight detraction was the room was a tiny bit tired and in the cottage across the road with a bit of a sticky window. However in general terms we live the whole experience and I can’t praise the staff enough. They were brilliant ”

”We had a wonderful stay at The View. The room was lovely, very spacious and overlooked the rolling hills, plus it was quiet. The staff were very friendly and attentive and breakfast was delicious and all cooked and prepared to order. We had one evening meal at the pub itself which again, we couldn’t fault. There is so much to do around the area and we will definitely be going back. A true gem of a find!”
