”Property is very run down. Our room was filthy. Bedding stained, toilet seat stained and floor was extremely dirty. My kids were very much looking forward to the fishing pond advertised as an amenity. Unfortunately the dock was sinking, a rowboat was full of water and beer cans, and the pond was covered entirely in weeds. We didn’t even stay the night.”

”My husband and I stayed at the Manchester View for 5 days while we were looking at houses. The hotel was nice enough to upgrade our room and it was wonderful. The room was so comfortable and spacious we didn't want to leave. Would definitely recommend the Manchester View to anyone and if we ever have an overflow of relatives that come to visit, they will be staying at the Manchester View.”

”There was no toilet paper in the room. The breaker went off during breakfast due to Keurig and toaster plugged into the same outlet. The receptionist seemed at wits end and wanted to shut down breakfast.”

”We had never been to Manchester before but when we drove past it, I noticed it immediately. They happened to have 1 room left for my son & I so we were very lucky to stay there. We enjoyed everything about it - the comfy beds & cute rooms, sitting by the pool drinking a glass of wine, walking around the historic house, rocking in a chair on the front porch, the close vicinity to a couple of restaurants and just chatting with the staff. We had to leave early the next morning which bummed us out...

”Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were nice but dated. Really not a bad place to stay. The only complaints were that the washing machines were broken so we couldn't do laundry (we're hiking the AT/Long Trail and very dirty clothes) and the breakfast was disappointing (looking forward to a hot breakfast but they only offer a granola bar, fruit cup and juice in a brown bag) but it was ok for us. Another plus is a Wal-mart, Price Chopper, Starbucks, and restaurants very close for resupply...

”Good location, everything in walking distance. Traveled alone and felt very comfortable hanging out at the bar downstairs for dinner. The staff was super friendly and the food was excellent. The band stopped playing around 10:30 and the place was quiet enough to sleep after that time. My room was simple but comfortable.”

”This is a beautiful property with a clean and friendly staff. Impeccably maintained! The dinner we had in the dining room was excellent. The only complaint I have is that my room could have used another bar of soap, and that's no biggie!”

”The property needs an upgrade. The pictures look better than reality. A/C is old and makes noises. Shower and bathroom are the oldest. Everything else is ok.”

”The New Englander Inn was in transition from being a Quality Inn to, I'm guessing, an independent motel. Our room was a suite, and was comfortable. The pool was closed. The ice machine was "Out of Order." there was only one for the whole complex. Our fridge would not open and shut properly, but was fixed right away. Our microwave had to be replaced since it sounded as though it was going to explode. The overhead light fixture in the hallway was filled with dead bugs. I think they are on the...

”The room was clean, but very run down — soft uneven floors, very out of date decor, musty smell. Staff is courteous and helpful. Air conditioning was cold and effective. Water pressure strong, hot water plentiful. Parking was ample. The environment felt safe, as does most of Vermont, but the door lock was old and not strong, I didn’t leave any valuables in the room while I was out. And the security deadbolts did not work at all. I probably wont stay there again as there are better...
