”I have no idea how In The Wind Hostel gets good ratings. Maybe mostly men stay here and avoid the brunt of it, but as a solo female traveler, this was hands down the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had.  The owner’s behavior was unhinged. He has a scary pattern of going from 0 to 100 out of nowhere, flying off the handle, and then snapping right back to a weird 0 like nothing happened. My first morning, I accidentally walked through an open door into his kitchen. He blew up and screamed in my...

”Smooth late check-in, rooms clean - everything good.”

”The Internet was good. Location also. Jennifer was quick to respond to questions. Spacious. Good air circulation. A fan or two would have been helpful along with reading lamps, but we were quite content. ”

”WiFi weak signal. I liked everything about this place and would stay there again”

”The room was very clean and the staff was helpful, but the furniture has seen a better day and the refrigerator even had rust on the door. The safe was broken and you had to go to the front desk to get a hair dryer. And there was a gap under the door which allowed all the hallway noise to come in. IN addition, there's no sign on the outside of the building and the entrance is behind a iron gate so I was not sure I was at the right building, but I rung the bell anyway and luckily it was the...

”I have to give it 5 stars. The apartment is located in a quiet and relatively safe area . It comes with literally everything you would need and its close to local restaurants and supermarkets. Id book this one again if im ever in costa rica. The host made the entire process easy . They answered all my questions and assisted with everything from local information to helping me get a driver to and from the airport.”

”The place was pretty misleading....for one there was a car in the living room....a legit car, and the bathroom was in a whole other area that was basically in the garage....and the host had complete access to... meaning that if you wanted to use the bathroom in the middle of the night you had to get completely dressed and to take a shower you have to get fully dried off and dress in the super small shower...and to get in and out there's 3 locks with 3 different keys...like a padlock on the...

”WiFi didn't work in room. Staff allowed smoking. The place smelled strongly of smoke. Staff watched TV in the reception area - this was too loud in the room. Room was not clean. There was still half a bottle of water from a previous guest in the room. This could be a nice place to stay, but there is little attention to details: Bathroom door scrapes across the floor and is difficult to open. No ventilation in the room. Not even a fan! No bedside lamps or power outlets. Off-street...
