”We had a fabulous stay and will definitely return to stay at the Merlyn Suites! The staff and service was amazing. We couldn't ask for anything more. When we arrived at San Jose Airport, we were picked up by the owners and driven to the property. The property is safe and secure and the suite was large and new! The staff went above and beyond in making our stay comfortable and attended to our every need. All of the amenities were provided as promised. The food was fantastic and the pool area...

”It rains quite often, so there is always water in the waterfalls, which are quite magnificent. You can handfeed toucans and hummingbirds in the park. In the hotel room's balcony there is a hummingbird feeder so that you can watch them very close. The tour to volcano Poas was a disappointment. The staff advised us to reserve the tour on a previous day, when you have no idea about the weather in the mountain. We didn't see anything there.”

”The spa was incredible and the views are magic. The waterfalls on the property are stunning and I loved hiking the trails for 2 hours through the dense, lush jungle on a very well maintained trail. The staff were so caring, attentive and kind, everyone helped me arrange transportation, meals and activities as a solo traveller. ”

”We spent two nights in a boutique type hotel Volcanes. It was located in the very center of Alajuela. It’s a small family run hotel with a good friendly english speaking staff. Breakfast is served by your order and it certainly is fresh. Rooms are very tidy as all the public areas. You can find rooms for different price categories. We liked it very much. ”

”Perfect base for visiting the Poas Volcano and other sights in the area. From the hotel you can see the volcano so no guessing the weather and it's just a short ride to the national park. The hotel and rooms are modern and cozy, nice sofas with small fireplace to enjoy in the lobby area. Good restaurant.”

She also provide price info so we are assured. With affordablenprice, this place is 3 blocks away from market, central sqaure, and 5 blocks from bus station to San Jose. You can also take the bus to airport.”

”Well maintained classy hotel on top of the hill overlooking San Juan. Nice coffee trail starts from the door. Pool is very small and was out of function. The only dinner place around is hotel's restaurant. The food was good but clearly overpriced.”
