”If you enjoyed fawlty towers and want to experience it,welcome to it. If however u want to experience a hotel from the 21st century look elsewhere. I wouldnt mind but we upgraded to a business class room. It was truly awful. Shower curtain yuk. Room soulless,no pictures no fridge nothing. ”Excellent standard of hotel with breakfast included in great location for walkable access to central Chester. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Confusing signage on entry to hotel/ race course car park ( no overnight parking), lead to use of town car park opposite. Which turned out to be cheaper and allowed us to stay for longer, although you do have to cross a busy road .
Note adjacent to railway line, which has overnight goods trains.
Would happily stay again.”

”Please be very aware that this hotel has no air conditioning and the fans provider in the room are so loud that you may need earplugs to sleep. Frustratingly there appeared to be an awareness the tower fans supplied were loud as well, so why they've not been replaced I don't know. There were no efforts made to close curtains etc. to aid room cooling before guests check into their room either. ”The level of service was exceptional and the staff were friendy and helpful.
The continental breakfast was delicious and it was a lovely suprise to have table service instead of a buffet.
It is disappointing that the hotel is due to close on the 30th September, as we would have visited again in the autumn.”

”Very poor. All about the money, staff half hearted, breakfast terrible, parking a rip off.
£4 for a refill of poor quality orange at breakfast tell you all you need to know.

”The hotel seemed pretty sophisticated and the building was charming. The room was pretty small, but still had the essentials (bathroom, some snacks, tea, TV). Bed wasn't necessarily nice for a tall person, but other than that I slept okay, even though the walls were paper-thin (I would say maybe not the best option for light-sleepers).
