”Beautiful location, overlooking the sea off Ravensglass. Professional, friendly team and great bar and restaurant in a pretty village where it has little competition. Interesting walk to local Roman Baths & the miniature railway. Close to Hardknott Roman Fort which was an interesting site to walk around, though probably one for the fitter and more energetic.”

”We stayed on bank holiday weekend and it was dead. The bar/pub had 3 people in it, there was no background music or atmosphere so was just a little awkward. ”I was very happy with my room! It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Unfortunately the walls are very thin and l could hear the people next door talking as if they were in the same room, so even though the bed/bedding was very clean and comfortable l did not get any sleep, l could even hear a conversation someone was having on a phone. ”Lovely room and great views from the room over the estuary. The corner shower is a little small and the outside steps up to the property could be a problem for some guests. We had breakfast at the Pennington Hotel, whilst the food was good the service is very slow, had to ask for tea several times and for the servers to take our cooked breakfast order. ”

”We loved the wayside whiskey barn. We had the twin room which was tastefully decorated. The whole place was real class. We had a full english for breakfast which was delicious. Emiko was a lovely lady . She let us book in a bit earlier. She went out of her way for anything that you would need. We would definately go back for a return visit.”

”We stayed in one of their 2 Viken lodges. It was huge and easily big enough to accommodate all of us with loads of space for kids to run about and explore. ”Initial impressions weren’t good-outside the caravan was scruffy with an old dog lead lying around and uncut grass around the door. However the caravan itself was clean and very comfortable. There was a smell of gas outside as well from the canisters but we contacted the owner who very promptly got someone to sort the problem. The caravan also needs a plug in the kitchen sink and a new light in the shower room. Overall I would say the caravan is comfy but needs some TLC.”
