”Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast.
The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. ”

”Very tired hotel! Geo thermal pool is not geo thermal. Rooms are untidy and dirty. We had ‘willies’ drawn in to the bathroom mirror. Screws in the wall but paintings in the wardrobe. ?? Carpet was dirty and other guests rubbish still on the floor. Curtain rail was broken and hanging off the ceiling so curtain would not shut properly. Spa was very tatty. We were told on checkout that the hotel had only recently been purchased and was being renovated but that was not advertised.

”This is such a lovely hotel - we so enjoyed our stay
The place is very relaxing to be in - staff super friendly and food excellent
The house is 17th century but very comfortable and well equiped
Plus very good value - even gave us complementary drinks plus packed lunches
Will definitely go again”

”Lovely people that run the hotel..made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in with our spaniel..room was very cosy..breakfast was amazing..lots to choose from including a full English..location perfect for tissington trail..definitely going to book again...”

”Nice enough but wasn't really worth what I paid for it. 4 poster bed was rickety and loose, only had half a roll of toilet paper, and the bathroom looked like it was in desperate need of a makeover and bath label was hanging off. Staff were nice but the building and it's facilities desperately need updating.”
