”Lovely place, service was authentic and very friendly. Would have helped to have parking instructions beforehand, but they handled it perfectly as well at the location. Breakfast was good and the location was convenient for exploring the Peak district.”

”Enjoyed our stay at the plough. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent.
Room was a little small but well appointed, with tea making facilities, iron and ironing board, heater/ fan and hair drier.
Bed comfortable.
1k from the centre of Hathersage, lots of parking for residents and bus stops outside.”

”Nice lounge to relax and read. Breakfast was great quality, lots of choice and good coffee!
We booked a private room with ensuite which was in the barn annex. This was basic, but ok, but the heating wasn't working in that building. Soaking wet after 20mile walk. Staff eventually moved us to another private room, 4 bed, in the main building.
On arrival at 5pm was told to order dinner before 6.30pm as there was a large group booked in at 7pm. So we did at 6.00pm only to be told the chef was now...

”Nice enough but wasn't really worth what I paid for it. 4 poster bed was rickety and loose, only had half a roll of toilet paper, and the bathroom looked like it was in desperate need of a makeover and bath label was hanging off. Staff were nice but the building and it's facilities desperately need updating.”

”Will not be returning, staff not helpful at all, dog friendly but couldn’t even let the dog have a sausage at breakfast as they had ran out, they had also ran out of biscuits for the room, garden peas and orange juice. Not a cheap nights stay so these things should not be running out!! Best staff were the morning we were leaving, had they had been on all weekend it would have made it a more pleasant stay”

”We were a family group of 3 and of different generations. We all found the staff we met to be very helpful and friendly. We had an evening meal after arriving and breakfast in the morning, The food was very nice, large enough portions, with enough choice.
We stayed in the quadruple family room, with twin beds and a bunk bed. It was large clean and comfortable. The bunk beds were in a seperate room but were directly connected to the main bedroom. I thought the layout would be particularly good...
