”Spent two nights as a couple with a small dog. Totally relaxing break on the banks of the River Trent. Stayed in one of the adjacent cottages (no 14). Excellent. Only niggles were that although the bathroom had been recently refurbished, the extractor fan was not working and there was nowhere to hang a towel. Bathroom had the best shower I have ever used. Talk about a whoosh! We ate both nights in the restaurant. It had a limited menu, but the food was good. Food and drinks reasonably priced....

”Booked a double and twin room. Twin room had more recently been refurnished, furniture in double was a bit tired. Both rooms were lovely and clean. Beds were comfortable and there was a good choice of hot drinks.”

”Great family room, spacious. Lovely outdoor space for children. Food was excellent, very generous portions. Gluten free catered for very well. Unfortunately the shower in room 33 constantly dripped. Other than that great 1 night stay after a long day at Twycross Zoo. Thanks”

”Nice old (18th century) Hotel in a nice village. Quite big rooms, a bit spotty but its part of the style I think... Good service, nice breakfast. But it is an old house and the smell (like in a cellar) remained on clothes even after washing”
