Measly penny pinching! Sad to see as the excellent staff here look demoralised by what’s happening around them! I sense they’re embarrassed!
If your budget runs to a standard double room you’ll experience an uncomfortable dated...

”Tight parking. We were lucky to get the tiny space we did. It was just for one night as a pit stop. Quirky old building. Staff seemed nice and the Breakfast as nice.”

”All but one room are up a set of steel stairs which are outside & therefor open to the elements. When wet, these steps could be slippery. These rooms are not very good for the elderly.
Carpark is a long way from entrance to the rooms.
Sound proofing between rooms could be better.
We found the beds too soft.
Bathroom mirror too small.
Wash basin HW did not stay hot for long.
Bathroom light switch by exit door & only one light in the bathroom so every time one went into it at night, the extractor...

”Our fourth stay at the Metropole in recent years.A privilege to stay in such a unique historic building,with yes a little patina around the edges.If you dont embrace the nostalgia then budget chain's are available.The staff here are so good,as is the breakfast and the pool and spa facility.A great location for roadtrips around mid Wales,and a huge car park.”

”Am Nachmittag des Ankunftstags, versuchte ich anzurufen, um Bescheid zu sagen, dass wir spät ankommen. Leider war niemand erreichbar. Dann habe ich im Internet herausgefunden, dass das Hotel zu war. Weder vom Hotel noch von Expedia wurde ich informiert und ich habe 2 Stunden am Telefon gebraucht, bevor ich eine Antwort von Expedia bekam. Dann habe ich selber ein Ersatzhotel gesucht!! Ich bin total enttäuscht und war super gestresst. Nicht was man braucht als Urlaubsanfang!”
