”The hotel was very beautiful old building. The apartment was spatious, bathrooms were very nice, but the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the temperature in the room was too high. Windows couldn't be kept open because of the terrible smell from the cows next to the hotel!”

”Great location for Lake District and Lancashire an on to North Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales without the premium price. Breakfast was plentiful and staff accommodating of a large party. We were able to change our room due to an error on our part, without problem or charge. Parking was always available and accessible.”

”Lovely friendly staff but they didn't seem to know anything. There was no mention about breakfast times and location etc on check in. We asked about the pool but the staff in the main building didn't know whether it was included or not (it's not). When searching for a hotel, I specifically selected Air Con as a filter, but what I didn't realise until too late, is the rooms that came up on my search don't have any - fortunately it cooled down the night we were there. Lovely big rooms.”

”I have stayed a villa many times, unfortunately this visit was disappointing, I arrived after paying 129.96 for 1 night which included breakfast..only to be told that I would have to pay another 10 pound for a cooked breakfast..I was told that I had payed for only a continental breakfast, this certainly didn't state this on my booking form, I was looking forward to quiet afternoon which didn't happen due to all the building work going on, then dinner well the menu wasn't what it used to be, so...

”Not much facilities in the room. No hairdryer, no ventilated fan in bathroom. No AC and it was so hot. We had to open the windows as it was hot. We could hear all the vehicles passing by at night! Difficult to sleep.”

”Rooms were quiet as accommodation is at the back of the site with woodland behind. There is plenty of parking right outside. Decor is old and tired and it needs a facelift. Breakfast was ok, cooked options were fine and bread and pastries good but fruit and yogurt options very limited. Probably would choose somewhere else to stay if in the area again.”

”My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful - we ate in the bar on the first night - tasty food and HUGE potion size. The room was large (twin beds) and both the room and bathroom were clean and well maintained - this is an old building which was part of its charm. The breakfast was continental - had everything we needed. We booked a second night which wasn't planned.”

”We had a great two night stay at the Preston South Holiday Inn. Upon arrival in the vast reception area, we were quickly checked in by the pleasant male receptionist. We had a very large room with a comfy bed, and a great bathroom with a big walk-in shower and Dove toiletries. Breakfast was buffet service, with a chance to make your own bap. We had two evening meals there, which couldn't be faulted. We also sat out in the garden area with drinks on a lovely day. Highly recommended.”
