”Clean, comfortable and easy access to events.”

”The pool was pretty cold but everything else was great!!!”

”The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property itself is poorly maintained and dirty. Our room smelled musty and not entirely cleaned before use.”

”A few years ago this property was okay - a decent hotel for the money. It has since gone downhill, and this will be our last visit. Our room this weekend smelled so horrible! All our clothes had to be washed twice to get rid of the smell. Tried to open the window to get some fresh air and the screen was missing, so that wasn't an option. Additionally, the toilet ran constantly, the deadbolt didn't work, and the swing bar lock had been removed. Never again!”

”For a quick stay in Ames it's perfect. I was concerned initially because of the ratings, but gave it a chance anyway. The staff I came in contact with were welcoming and helpful! The front desk gentleman was very attentive and friendly! There was a lady that worked the breakfast stations (I didn't catch her name) she was absolutely wonderful, personable and sweet. The rooms were very simple (not fancy), but clean (and I look at everything!!!) As a single female traveler I felt very safe there....

”Powdered eggs”

”Room was clean. Problem with electric for fridge, microwave, outlets in that part of room. Pool was out of order. Staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast was okay, plenty of options. Parking was close.”

”Super clean. Friendly staff and a good breakfast!”

”First impressions of lobby were of mold and chlorine. Just needed a place to sleep for the night though and everything else nearby was sold out. The room we stayed in was filthy. Stains on walls, dirt everywhere. Looked like it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in years. Breakfast room was near the pool I usually like the waffles at a hotel breakfast, but breakfast room was so gross and smelled so bad we left without eating”

”Nice spacious room and a good breakfast.”

”We booked online a two-day stay only, because we were not sure about the quality of the hotel. We came from Europe and our flight from Chigago to Des Moines was canceled, so we could not get to this hotel at the first day. I called and they kept our room reserved for us till we arrived, which was really nice. Kids liked the pool a lot. The breakfest was more than we could imagine, and the location was just perfect for us, so we decided to stay a whole week in this hotel. I can warmly recommend...

”Clean room Comfortable bed soft sheets Great water pressure”

”I noted that the smoke alarm was missing from the room, just wires dangling from the ceiling. The management seems well intentioned but overwhelmed. I thought there was supposed to be a breakfast offered, but didn’t track it down. Outside of the building was not well cared for. I WAS allowed to check in early and I was grateful!! As noted before, no fire alarm in the room.”
