”Beautifully maintained property with expansive grounds and hiking trails that cross the property and so it is brilliant for walking and dogs. The room we had was exceptional and came with a small garden which again was heaven for the dog. The stay in a place like this is always about the staff though, who were great. ”Everything about our stay was perfect, food was excellent and use of the spa is well worth it. We were upgraded without requesting it (never ever asked before) the room was stunning. The only downside was that we were directly above the kitchen, and there was constant banging coming from the kitchen. When i asked, apparently it was the water pipes when the dishwasher was in use. Didn't really affect us, as we were hardly in our room, but i could imagine you wanted a relaxing time in your room...

”Stayed in the 'Dunlin room' Very poor lighting in the corridor. Wallpaper patched up poorly in the corridor by the bedrooms. Noisy extractor fan in our bathroom. Breakfast a little underwhelming, (overdone bacon and chewy sausage. Staff very attentive and polite. No signal on the tv celestial channels on two days. Limited bathroom amenities. Cobwebs on the windows in the breakfast area. ”

”Luxurious room! We splurged for the nicer room and wow! Wonderful staff, good beer selection. We needed to leave early the next morning so the chef packed us a picnic breakfast with lots of fruit, a blt sandwich, crackers and jams and cookies. Ate it on a hill overlooking a field of sheep and the town below. So memorable!”
