”If you like Harry Potter, then you’ll like the accommodation, as there is a strong Harry Potter theme running throughout. That said, the cleanliness of the room occupied was at best ok while shelf space was extremely limited. Breakfast was a two-part affair, split between a cold buffet and a limited selection of hot food from the breakfast menu. The buffet was poorly provisioned when it comes to the likes of pastries, fresh fruit and yogurts with such items either lacking in variety or quantity,...

”The staff were lovely and helpful but we had booked there as there was food available. However when we got there we were told food only on Sundays. ”

”The hotel needs some work to elevate it to beyond 3 star status. The windows need replacing as the road noise from the front rooms is very loud. The evening meal was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just ok, but get there early before the self service becomes scarce. The bathroom tiles and grouting need work and some of the baths have been patched up poorly.”

”We stayed one night at the Tempus. The decor was beautiful, the bed comfortable, the food was very good, and the staff were friendly. The problem with the place is style over substance. While beautifully decorated and large, the lighting in the room was a nightmare. There simply wasn't enough nor was it in the right places. The wet room was even worse. The mirrors were not placed properly, there wasn't enough light to see yourself properly and if one were to take a shower the entire room...

”The pictures on the site do not represent the reality of this hotel. It’s currently very run down and in need of lots of work. We stayed for 3 nights, we only had 3 towels and although we asked for more twice, were not given any and they weren’t changed during our stay. The bathroom looked new but unfinished. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc. in the shower, the floor was slippy (I bought a rubber mat for them) the toilet flush was dodgy and neither the fan or light above the mirror worked....

”Fairfield house was well situated close to Warkworth and the beach. The hosts were excellent, very attentive with lovely little touches like freshly made cakes left each day and nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous breakfasts. Highly recommend.”

”Room was nice,individual and very comfortable. Breakfast was great but my Sunday lunch beef was a bit tough but I think it was one of the last portions to be served. Everything else was really good.”

”Room was much better than I expected. It’s been updated recently. Carpet in rooms is still dated. Unfortunately the bar was closed for renovations so we couldn’t experience the full value of staying over a pub. We were notified ahead of time.”

”Good food at reasonable prices . Pleasant and helpful staff. Good position for visiting lots of places. We had an enjoyable few days there would definitely go again if we were visiting that area again.”

”A lovely light and airy room with a wonderful view. Comfortable bed and plenty of clean towels. Staff were most welcoming and very helpful. Wonderful selection of goodies for breakfast. Fresh fruit every morning alongside a cooked breakfast and timings for breakfast most accommodating.”

”The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds”
