”Our room was very dated and run down, in desperate need of refurbishment. Shower leaked everywhere, plaster peeling and damp and mould all over. The £120 room only per night was far more than it’s worth. The bar is nice and the food is reasonably for a pub, it’s not a restaurant. Location is good and has parking which is rare for Howarth.”

”Check in wasent till 4:30pm.Quite busy when we arrived so had a drink a nice collection of ipa always a good thing.When got a drink told him we was checking in quite quick told us when your ready il show you to your room.To which they did explained everything.The room was everything we needed nice layout comfy bed.Near the train station but couldn’t hear much as trains pulled up.Shame they don’t do breakfast but there’s loads of place to go for something to eat in walking distance.Defo...

”Lovely little inn in very quiet location (though easy to get to Halifax). Room was great size, good facilities, bed was comfy! We had a nice view of a sheep field. Cooked breakfast was only available Friday - Sunday, but we were provided with a little cool bag of breakfast items which was unexpected bonus. We only stayed one night for an event in Halifax, but would definitely stay again and for longer.”

”Always a fantastic stay at this lovely pub. Manager is so friendly and helpful. We have eaten here the two times we have stayed and the food is also really good, with fantastic service. Rooms are characterful, clean and lovely and quiet for sleeping. Beautiful location in a very pretty village - a wonderful base for exploring this lovely part of Lancashire.”

”This is an absolutely charming inn attached to a pub and restaurant. The room is cozy and updated. The restaurant food is local, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Sunday roast was just delicious. You’re in the Yorkshire Dales National Park with a number of beautiful walks/hikes right outside the door.”

”Absolute gem of a place to stay. Gorgeous room with everything you need & so peaceful. The food was really good both for dinner & breakfast. We visited Fountains Abbey which was only 2 miles away. And we could do parkrun with plenty of time to get back before checkout & eat breakfast. Would love to return.”

”Exceeded expectations all round. Unusual for uk pub bedrooms.. air conditioning! lovely bedroom above the pub, well appointed, comfortable and quiet once closed. New Owners Becks and Tony super helpful and welcoming. Pub itself also great. Will definitely be back in the future”
