”Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. ”Room was very clean and modern, bed was a super king and mattress was comfortable. No road noise whatsoever from A1. Reception and corridors all very modern. Car charging is available on site ”

”Food , drink and staff were really good. Room was very clean but very noisy could here people in next room even their conversation and our room was at the front so constant traffic noise , lots of lorry’s going by. The double bed in our room (4) was very uncomfortable could feel the springs so not much sleep. Breakfast was interesting bought to your room in a basket ! ”

The food was home cooked and great, not prepackaged Pub was clean, no damp or mould The view from the beer garden was amazing overlooking the valley The room was Pub basic but clean and not mouldy. ”The place was very popular with locals so parking was a bit awkward, we arrived after 6pm and there wasn’t much room to park. Maybe one criticism would be there isn’t reserve parking for staying guests and after travelling 140 odd miles and to be faced with hunting a parking space was as I said a little awkward. But that shouldn’t take away from what was a nice place to visit great food and a generous breakfast, clean room comfy bed.”

Please note, this is a very old building and doesn’t have all the mod cons of a modern property. Bed linen and towels were lovely and clean. There is tea and coffee in the room and you may request additional items if you need them. Beer garden is amazing with lovely views. There are TVs to watch sport.
