”The darling couple who own and run the B&B are extremely delightful. Our hostess started us off in the morning with a delightful breakfast, good cup of coffee and good advice or directions to our days activities. She made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The bonus was the view from the property was gorgeous.”

”We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable. ”View beautiful, unavailable for 2 separate beds when that was what it was supposed to be, very hot although 2 fans were provided. Expensive dinner and terrible, bartender not experienced did not buy any drinks after the first.”

Chef is very talented! The views of boats in the bay and the shoreline of Oban are spectacular from this property. Highly recommend.”

”Spent one night at the hotel. It is located by a lake and had a nice view. The room was OK size, with a nice and clean bathroom. Spent the evening at the hotel bar, where they have an amazing collection of whisky. The bar area is cozy with a fireplace, books and boardgames. The breakfast buffet was tasty and staff friendly and helpful :) ”

”Lovely views of Loch Awe. The driver wasn’t so happy about the long single track road but the other two enjoyed the solitude and quiet at the end of the road. Rooms are comfortable and all different.”

”Wonderful location.Bothy was very well equipped .Great to be able to sit out side on the decking having a coffee and looking on to the loch where I saw a family of seals most days.At night it was great to have a very comfortable bed to sleep in and in the morning have a refreshing in the spacious shower.The family who own the bothy also provided an electric fan because the weather was very hot .Looking forward to going back sometime because it is such a beautiful spot.”
