Excellent Condo

The BVG is a great place to stay in Ixtapa! Very close to the center of activity - many excellent restaurants close by. The palapa at the BVG has great breakfast and lunch options and the staff is top notch! The property is exceptionally maintained on the common areas, pools, etc are spotless! If I could give 10 stars I would. We have been to BVG twice and are planning the next one already!

Nice property but run-down condo

The Bay View property and facilities were great. The two pools were lovely and the bar staff was amazing (great drinks). There is a nice beach areas with palapas that you can reserve. The location was great and walking distance to the centre with plenty of restaurants. The unit had a great balcony to watch the sunset on. However, the condo itself was quite run down and the photos of the property on the listing were very out of date. We had issues getting into the condo and had to sit on the sidewalk with our luggage for 30 minutes while it was sorted with the property manager - the owners were not answering the phone or emails during this time to help with the process. Arriving to the condo, the keypad entry was broken and we were only given one key (for a 3 bedroom property with several guests, you would think we would have more than one key). The property managers did end up getting additional keys cut, however this took a few days. The water was not turned on in the condo when we arrived, there was a toilet seat and shower head broken off in one of the bathrooms, the blinds fell off when we tried to open them in the master bedroom, the safe was not working and the bed sheets in one bedroom were very stained and gross. The property manager (Martin) worked with us to get these issues resolved but it took several days. The pots and pans in the kitchen were very warn and difficult to cook with. The condo did not supply any basic items (toilet paper, garbage bags, dish soap, bar soap, kleenex, etc). Again, the property is great. However this is more of a three star condo in a four star facility.

Outstanding in all respects!

We have stayed in a number of HomeAway or VRBO locations around the world and I have always trusted the honest reviews of those who have stayed there when we make our selection. Let me tell you that if you decide to stay at this location and in this beautiful spacious condo, you will be so very glad you did. First of all, dealing with the owners is "a breeze" - they are so prompt and accommodating with any questions, you will realize right away that these are amazing owners. I can't thank them enough for their kind and gracious manner. Secondly, the unit itself is so perfectly located and well appointed. We were there for a month and had a few guests over the month and it is so wonderful to have 3 bedrooms and separate bathrooms for each bedroom. There are ample towels for inside the unit, as well as towels for the gorgeous pool area. The kitchen has a good supply of items and we had great breakfasts on the large balcony every morning overlooking the pool and the ocean. You can't beat this unit for gorgeous sunsets as well. The beach is absolutely amazing and provides for an interesting an invigorating walk if you go from one end to the other. You can certainly swim in the ocean, but do watch out for the flags indicating the safety level of the waves. There are certainly activities available right outside the complex on the beach including parasailing, banana boats, jet skis, volleyball, and massages. Thirdly, the Bayview Grand Residential is probably one of the most beautiful buildings along the beach in Ixtapa. Security is excellent for the entire gated complex and the service at the front desk and around the pool area throughout the day is exemplary. The grounds are constantly being maintained and groomed as well. The front desk will get you a cab or they are so easily hailed just outside the main gates. As for Ixtapa itself, we have been here three times before and it is certainly a quaint and safe place to walk around during the day and evening. There are so many lovely and casual restaurants within easy walking distance from the Bay View and if you want to do some major shopping, an 80 peso cab ride will get you into Zihuatanejo. A 50 peso cab ride gets you to the Marina. (It's easy to get a cab back as well.) Overall, we can't wait to come back to this beautiful complex, spacious condo, and gorgeous location.

Great location

The Bay View Grand Residence is perfectly relocated in thw center of Ixtapa. We walked to many nearby restaurants every night. The unit itself was very well stocked and was perfect for my family of six. Thank you Jim and Molly. We had a fabulous stay in your home away from home.

Could not ask for anything else!

Amazing, condo and location! If you are planning a vacation, this is the place to spend it. The condo had everything you need, the decor is done with great taste. The management were always available. Location is, without a doubt, the best in Ixtapa. It had been a pleasure to deal with Jim and Molly, and not only they are fast to communicate, but also they had the answers I needed for our stay. It had been a pleasure to deal with them and staying in their condo that so generously shared with us. I would give 10 Stars if I could! Thank you for everything! AMAZING!!! We can't wait to come back! Beautiful condo, and really great people.

I am so happy that we booked this. The condo is perfect for either a family or a few couples. We came with our 4 children from ages 16 up to 20. Arrived in Ziwa and went to the counter to the right and got a large suburban to take us to the condo. The staff was great and met us at the desk to bring us up to the room. We watched the sunset from our patio enjoying a glass of wine. The rooms are all spacious, with their own bathrooms, and all rooms have huge patio doors that over look the pool and the ocean. There is a snack bar open from 9am - 5pm that serves many food options along with drinks. The boys went fishing one day and caught 10 fish, which Frankie at the snack bar set up to have them cook it for us. The location is perfect, right across from the vendors and the small market is walking distance. You can take a taxi to Ziwa for about 80-100 pesos. There are so many restaurants that you can walk to or taxi to Ziwa for dinner. Everything that you need to cook or make drinks is there in the condo. We absolutely loved it, and never once felt unsafe. We told our 16 year old daughters that they could walk around anywhere, just to be back by 6pm to get ready for dinner. A couple of times we walked to dinner and came home around 9:30 or so, but a lot of shops are still open and it is all well lit. We plan on coming back again next year, but for two weeks instead of just 9 days. So happy that we picked this!!!

Great Location - wonderful week spent

We had a great time, will definitely go back. The unit itself has a wonderful view, we slept with the doors open and never even needed the air conditioning on once. The staff at the pool bar especially Ricardo and Jose, were wonderful, providing incredible service. Please remember that tipping is really important to them as their regular wages are very low <3. We made the journey to Zihuatanejo and went to Nardo's for dinner (highly recommended as they have live music 2 days a week! the food was incredible too). We visited many little restaurants across from the BVG, we also bought groceries and cooked for ourselves a few times. We went to El Faro restaurant way up on the hill overlooking the bay, and took a few road trips to Barra De Potosi, and into Zihua to La Ropa and the beach with all the fishermen.. I already have activities planned for next year: Snorkelling, turtle release, and finding more restaurants with live music! We learned of the Guitar Festival a little late, as most tickets were sold out.. Next year if we can time it we will try to get tickets ahead of time :) Thanks Conahan Family for renting to us. We loved it!

The Perfect Spot!

Perfect for our group of 7. Every day perfect weather, something for everyone to do within walking distance. Rooms situated for privacy and away from living area for quiet. The deck was shaded for all day use. We love it we will certainly return again to this beautiful, and location. Excellent quick communication from owner and Property management.

Look no further- Paradise is here!!

My wife and I have been waiting so long to return to Mexico and it was well worth the wait! We have traveled to various destinations in Mexico and have wanted to visit Ixtapa for some time. There are simply no words to describe how amazing this place truly is. When we first arrived at the Bay View Grand we were stunned. The condo is amazing- three huge bedrooms and bathrooms, full kitchen, spacious living room and a great shaded balcony with views of the pool and the ocean. We felt spoiled since it was just the two of us staying in this huge condo, but we managed just fine. We also couldn't help but start planning our next trip with our children and extended family. This condo is perfect for a romantic getaway or a full family vacation. The overall complex of the Bay View Grand is exceptional as well. The two pools are right next to the ocean, and are clean and refreshing. Moreover, the restaurant right next to one of the pools had excellent food and a kind, generous staff. There is also a spa, game room, and gym to help keep you busy. Even though this is not an all-inclusive resort, we felt pampered and taken care of by the entire staff here at the BVG. Just steps from the pools is the breathtaking beach which sits near one end of the bay. From the comfort of our beach chairs we could set up snorkeling tours, fishing charters, parasailing and more with the friendly tour guides who pass by. Once we had our fill of the beach and pools, we found it extremely easy to walk to many wonderful restaurants and shops which are situated conveniently across the street from the BVG. Everyone in town was welcoming and happy- we always felt safe wherever we went. If you care to take a trip to Zihuatanejo, you can take a cheap easy bus ride. As I said, it is difficult to put into words how wonderful this place was for a vacation. Come see for yourself. I guarantee you will be the next person to leave a 5 star review!

Paradise!

When we first entered this condo, all 6 of us were nearly speechless. We found a beyond beautiful and spacious home, with an even more beautiful view. We were a party of 4, 18 year-old HS grads, and 2 chaperone Mom's. Everyone loved staying here and all Ixtapa had to offer. The ocean was gorgeous and warm, the pools were clean and refreshing, the service was respectful and friendly, and overall we felt welcomed by everyone. We even went into town with friends we made at the pool for "Posole Thursday" which was an amazing experience. Our group filled half of a local bus to get there. What a blast! I would highly recommend this rental to anyone and everyone of all ages as I am already dreaming of my next visit to Paradise:)

We have been to the area several times but never found this gem until now. You will quickly feel right at home but then it sets in, you are living a dream. The condo is well laid out, each room has its own private feel. Rather you are traveling as a large family or need to split up into a few groups this unit will meet your needs. The entire property is we'll maintained. The pool areas are large and suitable for toddlers - seniors with plenty of room for all. The beach is fantastic complete with a lifeguard. There is plenty to do within walking distance but you might not want to leave, there is a poolside restaurant that is very affordable. BVG C-301, try it you'll love it, but then again maybe you shouldn't, that way there will be more stays for us.

The PERFECT place for a family vacation!!!!

This condo is absolutely perfect for a family vacation! It is spacious and so nice to have lots of room! We have stayed at the BVG before, once in this unit and a few other times in others. This condo is PERFECT for families with little ones! The 3rd floor location makes it easy to access from the pool, it's a quick walk up the stairs or the elevator. The condo has a pack and play and also lots of pool and beach toys which make packing so much easier!!!!! Our son (1 year old) couldn't get enough of the pools! There are 2 kid pools, each attached to the larger pools, that are so nice! Both have zero entry walk ins so it was great to let him have a little independence. The main pools also have zero entry spots as well as stairs so it was nice to let him play in the main pools as well! There is also a wonderful shaded playground with swings and a slide when you need a break from the pool! The condo has everything you will need in the kitchen. It's fully stocked! This also made traveling with kiddos so much easier! It was great to be able to cook some meals in the condo! The balcony is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, take an afternoon break from the pool while the kiddos are napping, or enjoy the sunsets! The staff at BVG is wonderful! You will feel extremely safe and secure here, you won't have to worry about a thing!!! There is a beach lifeguard too! The pool snack bar has GREAT food, it's reasonably priced and you could eat all of your meals here if you didn't want to leave the property. If you do want to venture out into Ixtapa you will find lots of great places to eat. The town is very safe and you should feel really comfortable and welcomed by everyone!!! I can't say enough good things about this condo! We have stayed here with and without kids and both times it was perfect!! There are board games, cable TV, hair dryers, and lots of other little extras to make you feel at home! It's beautifully decorated and there are 3 large bathrooms which makes traveling with groups so nice!!!!!!!!! Thank you to the owners for making our sons first Mexico beach vacation so memorable!! He had so much fun and so did we!!!!! I would recommend this place to anyone--couples, honeymooners, families, etc. there is something for everyone. The BVG staff will do what they can to make sure you have a great time. They can also arrange spa services, reservations, activities, etc for you! Sad to end a great week but SO excited to return next year!!!! :)

I am VERY picky about vacations!

I was really looking for something super relaxing, fun and, most importantly, beautiful for my 50th. I wanted to be ON the beach within steps, see the ocean from every room, hear the waves from my room and have someone bring me drinks and food. A princess, just this once -- all about me. If that sounds like heaven to you, this is the place! Even though there are three bedrooms and it would be a blast with family and friends, there were just the two of us and we didn't miss having those bedrooms filled even once=] The view is absolutely stunning. The condo and the property are beautiful and luxurious. This is not your average beach condo. We loved sitting on the huge balcony with trees, the ocean and exquisite sunsets as far as the eye can see. We ate a delicious breakfast everyday by the infinity pools that overlook the ocean as well. We spent hours on the comfy lounge chairs on the beach reading, painting and watching the parasailors fly by overhead. The sunsets were different than I have ever experienced. The water turned from looking like it was full of sparking diamonds to a minty green color and the sun looked like Molten lava and then bright red as it went down. How many places can you go and have a mountain view on one side, an ocean on the other and tropical paradise in between? Highly recommend this property!!!!!

How do you put into words one of the most relaxing and beautiful vacations of our lives. The Unit and amenities were beyond expectation and the staff were excellent and attentive. We enjoyed the ease of taking public transportation to and from Zhiwa and Playa Linda. We visited some ruins and enjoyed many local restaurants where the food was excellent. The locals were very friendly and helpful since our Spanish is woefully lacking. We recommend this unit (and Ixtapa) to anyone and everyone who wants to enjoy luxurious accommodations with fabulous amenities. We will be back.

Another great week!

Our 2nd stay at BVG, and our first in this wonderful condo. We will be back. Our kids, 13 and 17, love Ixtapa just as much as the adults. Food, fun, fishing, everything we love to do while relaxing in the sun. This place is top shelf! We've been all over Mexico for vacations, but Ixtapa and BVG is where we will always return. The condo was immaculate, spacious, and had everything we needed for a great week. You cannot go wrong renting this unit. Just don't do it the week we will be back!!

We stayed at the BVG Unit...

We stayed at the BVG Unit 301-C for 10 days including Easter weekend 2008. It was a very comfortable and brightly lit unit with plenty of space for everyone. This is a very safe, well guarded building with two terrific pools and a great view of the spring sunset from the north facing terrace. The daytime concierge was helpful in setting up dinner reservations at area restaurants and hailing taxis.The wireless internet access worked very well for 8 of our 10 days in case you need to do some work while you are here. The A/C worked very well in the unit and helped abate the security guards' slightly annoying walkie-talkie radio communication calls that could be heard chirping every few minutes when we tried to sleep with the doors open.The three main bathrooms are very nice and sizeable - keep in mind that "hot" in Spanish is "Caliente" so the shower dials are almost all backwards with the C on the right actually being the hot water. The kitchen is fairly well stocked with appliances etc but you won't want to be cooking there too much as it inside the unit with no direct sunlight and it's too nice outside to be cooped in there anyway! The snack bars by the pool are quite reasonably priced. The north side snack bar seemed to have slightly better food and service although the menus are the same.You’ll be very comfortable at this lovely condo and will find it hard to ever go back to staying in cramped, expensive hotels after staying here!

My husband and I stayed in unit 301C with our dear friends and it was spectacular! We felt like we were at a 5 Star Resort with ALL the amenities:concierege building, spa, health club,and pool restaurant.Unit 301C was spacious,very clean, beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything we needed. We particularly liked the 2nd floor location of unit 301c which enabled us to use the stairs or the elevator.Unit 301C faces north with beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets from the terrace.We highly recommend this unit, we will be returning with our extended family.

This is our 4th year in Ixtapa. Our 2nd year staying at the Bay View Grand. It is the most beautiful place to stay. Unit 301C is our favorite unit. The unit is very spacious and fairly well equipped. Even though there are many fabulous restaurants in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo, we still enjoy cooking at home. Watching the beautiful sunsets and the sounds of the waves on the large sundeck is wonderful. The unit made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the unit so much that we have booked it with another couple for next year. Thanks for making our vacation a great experience.

If you have not been to Ixtapa, you are missing the pearl of the Mexican Riviera. The Bay View Grand is the finest property on the beach. And the best located. We stayed in condo C301 and found it to be charming, casual elegance. We enjoyed coffee and cocktails on the spacious terrace overlooking the pool and Pacific. We slept well to the gentle sound of the surf below. The accomodations and amenities are superb. I would highly recommend this rental for your Ixtapa vacation.

Me and my family stayed at this beautiful and comfortable condo for a week. We wished we could have stayed longer. The view, pool and beach were great. Very clean and not crowded at all. Everything within walking distance. The condo has everything you need. Zihuatanejo not far at all. The only thing we did not like was the towel rule. You must only take the brown/embroidered towels to pool area, which means you have to wash them everyday in order to use the next.
